Del Norte Triplicate moving May 1 The Del Norte Triplicate is moving May 1 from its current location to the Curry Coastal Pilot office in Brookings. “Our employees will still be working in Crescent City and Del Norte County, but those employees will work remotely,” said Country Media’s Chief Executive, Joe Warren.

“Fewer of our customers are coming in to our offices to do business,” Warren said. “As it is, our customers already are placing classified ads and legal notices, obituaries and subscriptions mostly online.” Country Media Inc., which publishes 10 community newspapers in Oregon and Northern Cal-

ifornia, “is beginning to create a collection of hub locations where we can create and produce multiple newspapers,” Warren said. “In Tillamook, Oregon, for example, we oversee news reporting and ad sales not only for the Headlight Herald, but also for our adjacent newspapers in Cannon Beach and Manzanita.”

He added that for years the Del Norte Triplicate and the Curry Coastal Pilot have been operated in unison, sharing a classified ad section, production and other resources. Warren said The Triplicate will continue to arrive on Wednesday each week. -Staff

Pebble Beach Drive is Now Open Stabilization fund in both revenue and expenses. The funding allowed a 10 percent contingency reserve in State Assistance. The total funds allocated for the emergency repairs is just under $6 million. City crews and contractors constructed a 220 lineal foot retaining wall to stabilize the bank. All emergency funding is reimbursable. The City, via consent, voted to continue the emergency status until further notice. In the interim, Pebble Beach Drive is safe and open to traverse, from beginning at 5th Steet to Washington Blvd., allowing visitors and locals alike to enjoy, arguably some of the most dramatic vistas along coastal North America.

City Manager Eric Wier extended gratitude and appreciation for the public’s patience, City Public Works and embraced all the partners who facilitated the opening due to catastrophic cliff collapse, January 24. The initiated cliff erosion followed the terrific storms of December 2016. By August 2021, the project had grown to a $32.6 million. Since the founding of the water district in 1968, the Loop has never had access to fresh, safe drinking water. Crews have begun digging a 3000 ft trench surrounding the Loop. Some 30 parcels are soon to be impacted. Water from the Smith is now being sanitized for the property owners. A $2 million grant from the California Department of Water Resources is funding the grant. The buy-in is $4600 per parcel. Water users can expect their faucets to release the clean water by early June.
