Shop with a Hero Event A heart-felt THANK YOU to Wal Mart Crescent City, Crescent City Rotary and all our local law enforcement heroes who came together this “ Shop with a Hero” Event truly special! Your dedication, generosity and hard work have brought our community closer and help create memories ﬁr our kids. From ongoing logistics to providing supplies, volunteering your time and spreading joy, this event would not have been possible with you. The Del Norte Sheriff’s Dept handed out small gifts distributed by deputies Christmas Eve and Day, provided by Rose Meyers of Scentsy Sales and free candies under the Sheriff Dept. Christmas Tree. Shopping without a Hero

K9 Juno Struck and Injured

Last Thursday was a very dark day in Crescent City. K9 in training, 1 ½ year old Juno was struck by a hit and run driver on west Washington Blvd, near the ﬁre station. 16 year old Police Explorer Jenna Phillips, a Junior at Del Norte High and Juno’s handler arrived to see her precious Juno curled up on the curb, seriously injured. Jenna, with the help of her Dad, gently picked up Juno and rushed her home. An expeditious trip to Town and Country Vet in Harbor revealed she suffered a broken leg and fractured pelvis. Town and Country administered First Aid, an action which saved Juno’s life. The encouraging news is it looks like Juno is going to make a full recovery but funds are desperately needed.
