It was on that day that he opened the doors to his computer supply and repair shop, the PC-DR, in Bowman. But he wasn’t sure what fate had in store. Since then, Hawthorne said he was amazed at the outpouring of support from the community as they utilized his services as the only such business within the area. It was with a heavy heart that Hawthorne announced he would close the doors to his business June 6. Leaving behind his business and the community he grew to love was a tough decision, but one that he said was necessary for his family. Opening the PC-DR was quite the venture for Hawthorne, coming nearly 750 miles to Bowman from Pinehurst, Idaho. “It was a little slow at first. Once people knew I was there and got to know me, I’ve been busy ever since,” Hawthorne said with a smile. Over the past three years, Hawthorne has returned the support he’s received to his community, donating items to the annual School of Promise auction, including his “legendary” cheesecakes and a new laptop. He and his wife, Katherine, could be seen around town providing large, home-cooked
meals whenever they felt they could be of service. Their meals were a highly anticipated and welcomed treat to many that knew of the couple’s extraordinary culinary skills. “It’s probably been the friendliest, most caring community that we’ve ever lived in,” Hawthorne said. But now Hawthorne said it is time for the family to move closer to the couple’s recently married children. It wasn’t an easy decision, or a quick one, as Hawthorne said they discussed wanting to be closer to their children for nearly a year. Hawthorne now has his business up for sale with hopes that someone will relocate to the area and continue the computer service business that is singular to Bowman. He said he hoped the Bowman community would, once again, show their support as the family tries to sell as much of their belongings as they can to offset their large moving costs.

ACC is currently looking for experienced heavy equipment operators and experienced packers. Starting pay is $19.50 for Packers and $22.50 for Dryer/Loader Operators with increases after 60 days. Attention Scranton Equity Durum Customers The Durum house will be shut down from the 23rd of May until approximately the 23rd of June. We are having extensive work done on the front legs and dumping pit. During this shutdown we will not be receiving any durum, but will continue to buy for later delivery. We apologize for this, but the work must be done. Please check with us in June as the work may be done sooner than expected. As with most work done of this nature, the contractor will not know the extent of the work until they start tearing things apart.
