The North Dakota Industrial Commission (NDIC) is considering expanding policies dealing with private land and mineral owner’s rights. The NDIC is considering a buffer zone from one to Two miles around 18 different points of interest including the Little Missouri River, Portions of the National Grass Lands, Theodore Roosevelt National Park and all major buttes in western North Dakota, example Bullion Butte, Black Butte, Pretty Butte, White Butte, to name a few. If this policy is adopted, Eleven special interest groups will be forwarded the non confidential portions of the drilling application for their review and comment. The groups asking to comment which are all state and federal government agencies; Director N.D. Game and Fish, Historical Preservation Officer, N.D Parks and Rec. NDDOT, Dept. Of Trust Lands, State Engineer of State Water Commission, State Director of Bureau of Land Management, Superintendant of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Supervisor of Dakota Prairie Grasslands, Field Supervisor of U.S Fish and Wildlife Service (N.D. Field Office) and the Auditor of an effected County. This is a concern to all land and mineral owners as it is another layer of Bureaucratic infringement of private property rights. Comment/Concerns can be submitted to the NDIC on or before February 25, 2014. Incumbent must have a clean driving record and must maintain insurability under the CES insurance driving criteria.
