FROM THE CURRY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE On March 31, 2026, at about 4:42 p.m., Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a 911 call from twenty-three-year-old Beaverton, Oregon resident, Nikhil Rowland. Rowland advised that he had fallen approximately 20

‘No Kings’ in Curry County sees hundreds out along Highway 101

BY NATE SCHWARTZ The nation-wide No Kings Protest on March 28, 2026, was the third of its kind and involved over 3,300 organized rallies in all 50 states. An estimated 8 to 9 million people participated in protests against

the current administration, including 700 in Curry County according to local headcounts. According to local organizers in Indivisible North Curry County and the Curry County Democrats, there were 300 protesters in Brookings, 250 in Gold Beach,

and 165 in Port Orford. The issues at the forefront of the demonstration included the administration’s attempts at voter suppression, the war in Iran, and the alleged cover-up of the Epstein files. Despite the serious nature of the concerns, the demonstrations were entirely
