n Nov. 28, the West River Ministerial Association will host a Thanksgiving dinner at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The meal will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. According to Methodist Pastor Duane Coates, the ministerial association is looking to provide “fellowship, companionship, and food” for everyone. “We want to provide for those who might find themselves without somewhere to go on thanksgiving, or for those who might have all of those things, but want to be involved with the community,” he said. The dinner on Nov 28 will be a classic Thanksgiving meal. Food will be available for pickup and the association plans to deliver the thanksgiving meals to the local assisted living center. This year will be the second annual Thanksgiving dinner hosted by the ministerial association. Although the association has played a big role in facilitating, Coates said that Rita Steinbach and other helpful volunteers are what have made the dinner possible. “Rita Steinbach,

or three generations, the Knudson family has been serving the Adams County community, working with local producers and ranchers to provide various agricultural services. On Nov. 15, Knudson Feeds hosted an appreciation meal to celebrate over 90 years of business. According to Business Owner Dwight Knudson, the business started in 1929 when his grandfather moved the Knudson family to Hettinger and bought a grain elevator and a flourmill. Knudson said that the early stages of Knudson Feeds started with feed and flour production. “That flourmill made a lot of flour in the 30’s and 40’s,” said Knudson. “Actually, the flourmill is what kept my dad out of World War II, because making food was an essential industry.” Years later, in 1947, after the flour industry ebbed, Knudson’s grandfather altered the flour mill into the first pellet mill in west river North Dakota to create animal feed. The mill allowed the family business to manufacture pelleted feed from farmer’s grain the way the farmers wanted it made. In 1961, however, the mill burned down. After the fire in 1961, the Knudson family decided to rebuild.

Dwight’s father, Clarence Knudson rebuilt the small animal feed mill shortly after the original burned down in 61’. “My father Clarence designed the feed plant himself, pretty much from the ground up,” said Knudson. “It was all him.” Dwight said people advised Clarence not to build a small mill because he would regret the decision and would want to build a bigger KNUDSON » PAGE 2

Since the Show’s date was after Halloween this year, Sheri Uecker’s amazing homegrown pumpkins were not there (as they had already been gifted to family and friends for Halloween). Instead we had a dozen homemade pies from local baker extraordinaire, Sylvia

one down the road. In the end, however, the size of the mill didn’t matter. Tragedy struck again when the reconstructed mill burned down again in the early 80’s after only 20 years of use. “We had been so busy, we didn’t have time to clean the boiler. It needed periodic cleaning and I didn’t have time to do it,” said Dwight. “When I found the fire in the mill, it was too late.” He continued, “For many years I felt re-

Our grand total raised was $2,786; with $2,360 placed toward our Physician Recruitment Endowment Fund, $260 for West River Ambulance, $100 for Partners In Health Club,and $66 for Western Horizons, Surger y Center and our General Fund.Each donor specified where

The farming industry has changed dramatically since the 80’s and the regulations would have been endless.” After the feed mill burned down, Knudson Feeds changed its operation from making feed to selling feed. “After the mill burned down, the business made a whole 180 degree change,” said Dwight. “Before, farmers would walk in to the business and we would work out what they needed. Now, I approach the farmer with brochures and convince them to talk about

the options.” Despite the setbacks, Knudson Feeds held strong, surviving not only through multiple fires but also through many tumulus times, including the great depression, the rough agriculture and land prices in the 1980’s and local drought in the early 2000’s. Ultimately, Dwight said it was the quality assurance that kept Knudson Feeds alive through the years. “People who walk through the doors know that they are going to get a quality product,” said Dwight. “It’s been that way for 90 years.”

LOCAL FSA Holds 9th Annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive E

very year the Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices throughout North Dakota conduct a Holiday Drive to help make the Holiday Season more cheerful for others. This year the Adams County FSA Office is once again collaborating with Adams County Social Services to focus their holiday drive on collecting items to help provide Christmas mealsand Christmas presents to those in need.

In the broader community, Jordan is a member of the SouthWest Grain Advisory Board and Adams County Fire District Board, and Jacki is chair of the Adams County Rodeo and a member of the NDSU Hettinger Research Extension Center Advisory Board. According to Nordby, the board members from the West River Breeders Association specifically chose the Christmans because

of their dedication to sustainable agriculture practices and their consistent support in extension programs. “They are both really involved in the community to really just make Adams County an even better place to live,” said Nordby. Both Jacki and Jordan said they the banquet was “quite the event.” In addition to being honored at the banquet, the producers also had a chance to attend the NDSU football game. “It was quite the experience,” said Jacki. “We had a good time

in Fargo and we got to meet other producers from all over North Dakota and Minnesota.” Ultimately, Jacki said they were honored to find out that they had been chosen for this year’s Adams County representatives at the Harvest Bowl Awards. “We were deeply honored,” said Jacki. “Anything that you can win doing what you love is a blessing. I just think agriculture is really important to our community and to us, so it’s exciting to see people recognize how much hard work we have been doing. It was a thrill.”

Erland Stenberg, born Erland LeRoy Stenberg, September 18, 1936, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home with family members by his side early in the morning on November 11, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Ernest Stenberg, and his older sisters, Maxine Morgan, Eunice Delling, and Meredith Cornell. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Mary Ann Stenberg, and their children, Sheldon (Denise) Stenberg of Walnut Creek, CA, Michael Stenberg of Hettinger, ND, Steven (Karen) Stenberg of Novato, CA, Noel Stenberg of San Rafael, CA, and Shannon (Robert) Alten of San Rafael, CA. He also is blessed with nine grandchildren, Whitney Barrilleaux (Jared), Sara Stenberg, Madison (Drew) Hagman, Taylor Stenberg, Bobby Alten, Billy Alten, Adam Stenberg, Mason Stenberg, and Sam Stenberg, as well as two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Ben Barrilleaux. Erland was born on a farm located north of Hettinger, ND, and the family moved to the current location of the family farm about 2 miles south of Hettinger in 1944. During those years, Erland experienced the hardships of those times, worked on the family farm every day, and learned about duty and responsibility from a very young age. Among interests he had in his youth, Erland was an avid and accomplished FFA member and proudly showed Hereford bulls that he lovingly raised. Erland attended Hettinger Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1954. Erland then began attending National College of Business (NCB) in Rapid City, SD. It was there that he met Mary Ann (Marquess) in the fall of 1955. After graduating from NCB in 1956, Erland and Mary Ann married on June 15,

1956 and proceeded to start a life together that lasted the rest of Erland’s life. Within five years they were quickly blessed with four boys, Sheldon, Michael, Steve, and Noel. In 1962, Erland and Mary Ann decided to move to Mitchell, SD to raise their family. In June 1964, Erland and Mary Ann welcomed one more child into the family when Shannon Musette was born. Erland had begun working in a public accounting firm as a staff accountant for Don Wohlenberg in 1962 and threw himself into his public accounting career. It would become a focal point the rest of his life, something he was always extremely proud of. He passed his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and was licensed as a CPA in South Dakota in 1967. Erland worked hard for the firm and earned partnership status. The firm had success and grew, eventually expanding to be called Wohlenberg, Gage and Company, CPAs, and the largest in the state at that time. In 1971, Erland moved the family to Sioux Falls, SD, where he managed the firm’s office. He was also appointed to the South Dakota State Board of Accountancy by then-Governor Richard Kneip, and later became President of the State Board. In 1975, Erland sold his interest in the CPA firm and moved the family to Novato, CA, where he became involved in a few business ventures and experienced a few highs as well as lows. In 1985, Erland decided to resurrect his CPA career by purchasing a small accounting practice in Sonoma, CA. He worked diligently, again had success, and his accounting practice flourished. Erland and Mary Ann also began acquiring rental property to provide a source of income for the future. In 1988, Erland found ranch property in West Marin County on Chileno Valley Road for him and Mary Ann to move to with more of a country lifestyle that they longed for. The 450 acre parcel, the E Lazy S Ranch, has been Mary Ann and Erland’s home ever since. Erland continued his passion for real estate investing and began acquiring commercial property. He also decided to sell his Sonoma accounting practice in

2008 and moved his office to Santa Rosa. In 2016, he moved his office for a short stay to Petaluma, CA to be closer to home. Then in fall 2017, Erland was diagnosed with Dementia. He referred the rest of his accounting practice to his CPA son, Steve, and retired to the Ranch where he could be at home full-time. By 2018, Vascular Dementia began to take a toll on Erland. The illness continued its pervasive invasion of his mind to overwhelm him. With a great deal of support from many caring and devoted people, including Continuum Care Hospice, and First Light Caregivers, Mary Ann got the everincreasing help that she needed to be able to take care of Erland at home. He went through many changes over the course of the two years following his diagnosis, but continued to surprise all of those around him with his ability to rise up and show his true self at times. He remained safe, comfortable and at peace to the very end. Erland was an exceptional businessman, Husband, Father, Grandfather, GreatGrandfather, and friend who provided financial advice and tax services for countless numbers of people. His honesty, true desire to do what’s right to help people, all earned him the utter love, respect and devotion of those around him. He will be missed as a man of great honor and trust. A Memorial Service for Erland will be held at Centennial Chapel of the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home at 2pm on Friday, November 22, 2019. Following the service there will be a reception. Erland will be interred in his family plot at the Hettinger Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests those desiring to show their respect and appreciation to make donations to the local hospice that cared for Erland, Continuum Care Hospice, 5401 Redwood Hwy. #110, Petaluma, CA 94954. The good sign is we have a lot of teachers stepping into extra-curricular roles, the down side is availability during these events. We have had some discussion about how to improve the process, especially since it seems like we are sharing more and more teachers between elementary and high school.4Day School Week Survey-We had 226 Responses with 68% of the responses coming from parents of enrolled students (153) of 273 enrolled students. 75.7% responded as Strongly Agree (49.6%) or Agree (26.1%). 17.2% responded as Strongly Disagree (8.4%) or Disagree (8.8%). The top factors in the decision making was 31.4% Academic Performance, 16.4% Scheduling Appointment, 14.2% Extracurricular Scheduling, and 13.3% Length of Day. There were an additional 20 comments. I have created a summary report for the board in Drobox.North Dakota Department of Emergency Services-Hettinger Public School recently has been conditionally approved for $55,458 for the following projects: update cameras to IP and IR with increased accessibility to be able to control camera angles from mobile devices, replace elementary building doors with ¼ window doors with fire rating, and provide a fast office check-in system for community members.Northern Bottling Company Agreement-We have come to an agreement with Northern Bottling Company to sell their products exclusively. There are some financial rewards associated with the agreement, $1000/ year, supplies, equipment and the ability to print our logo on water bottles for a reduced cost per case. Mr Seamands also added that the last early out day the staff participated in an Active Shooter Training. Activities Director Report: Athletics:Football: They will be wrapping up their season this coming Saturday in Napoleon. Coach LeFebre did a great job developing those younger players this year. Volleyball: We are in the meat of the season now. We played Trinity last night. We have three matches next week, due to rescheduling due to the winter storm last week. Girls at all levels are playing great. Elem. Basketball: Girls has ended and boys has started. They had two games this week already. Coach Parnow and Coach LeFebre are running the show again.By Next Meeting: Wrestling will have started and volleyball will be at regionals.Other Things- Hall of Fame: The Hall of Fame committee had to postpone their induction due to the weather. For whatever reason it is working now. It is just really small and at the way back of the bus, so seeing it strobe is difficult. Record Board: We will be doing some renovating of the entrance to the Big Gym. We will be taking down all the existing record boards up there. We are going to replace it with an electronic system. There will be a TV with some sort of tablet cycling through all our old Black Devil records and new Nighthawk records. I will be talking to Coach Pierce and Coach Dietchman to get the basketball records over here. Coach LeFebre is going to compile Nighthawk football records, and I will compile Nighthawk volleyball records.Coaches Still Needed: JH Boys Basketball, High School Boys and Girls Basketball, Head Track Coach. JH Coach Mr. Erickson resigned his position as of the end of the 2019-2020 season. There was also discussion reserving the armory the Board felt that it should just be one appointed person in the school system to handle all armory needs. Mr. Kohler agreed to be that go to person. Education Improvement Report: No Report Student Council Report: We had our homecoming dance and had a great turn out with both JH and HS. Fun week of dressing up and decorating. Our next project is handing out the wreath order forms at the end of the month so that we can get the wreaths here the first part of December. Unfinished Business: 4 day school week survey showed there were 226 responses to the survey with 49.6% strongly agree, 26.1% agree, 8.8% disagree, and 15.5% had no opinion. The survey responses showed the school board that the community is interested in a 4 day school week. The administration and board will extend their research to other communities to get more data and move forward with the 4 day school week project. Social Media Policy second reading was tabled to get more information. Discussion was held with School Board Member Andress about his

feelings about staying on the Negotiations Committee for the 20192020 school year. He agreed to stay on the committee. No further action was needed. New Business: Discussion was held on the ACT or NDSA Accountability Measurers. The Board was asked if wanting to move from the NDSA testing to ACT for Hettinger School Districts accountability measurers. Superintendent Moser feltstrongly that NDSA is a more appropriate measure of our students’ achievement because the assessment is aligned to the state standards. ACT is a college readiness test and does not necessarily align to the standards and benchmarks established by the state of North Dakota. The Board agreed with Superintendent’s views and decided to continue with the NDSA testing for accountability measures. Superintendent Formative Evaluation is to be acted on by November 15th of each year, in order to meet that deadline, the Board has agreed to have the November Regular School Board Meeting on November 13th at 6 pm in the School Board Room. Dusty Laufer from the Adams County Commissioners met with the School Board to discuss the snow fence placement on the School’s Football Field. The School Board is asking for the snow fence to be placed in a different area to try and divert snow away from airport road and the Track and Field areas that are needed for use during the spring. Dusty Laufer has discussed this with the county highway department and they are going to try and not put a snow fence up this winter and see what happens with the snow on airport road. Another thought for the next years coming is to place the snow fence more into the northwest end of the school’s softball fields if the snow fence is of a need. Dusty Laufer also suggested marking the track and field areas to prevent equipment running over the track and field equipment if snow is needed to be move around. Ag Education Committee was on the agenda, Mrs. Schauer read a letter (attached) to the School Board from the Ag Ed Committee. The letter was asking the School Board to reconsider the Vocational Education supplies budgeted amount for 2019-2020. The committee felt the requisitioned and non-requisitioned classroom supplies budget was not enough to support the VoAg classes for the school year. Discussion was held that the classroom sizes have increased and not enough of the budget has increased to support the classroom size increases. Moved by Andress, seconded by Kindsfater to adjust the supplies budget back to the original budgeted amount of $4,300 minus the classroom supplies that were not in the requisitions. Motion carried unanimously. Also, the school board may look at the budget towards the end of year and see what the funds look like at that time. A few have asked and I’m sure some have noticed that I have not been at as many of Night Hawk sporting events as in the past. My physical balance is getting to be a problem for me as I have fallen a couple times. Climbing stairs is really a problem unless I have railings to support me. I also don’t feel as comfortable driving at night in winter weather as I used to be. I’m still a Night Hawk fan and will do as much as I can. Thanks to all coaches who answer my email questions. According to the Bismarck Tribune a study of numbers published by the National Federation of State High School Associations found that 4,078 North Dakota high school boys and girls participated in 11-man and 9-man football in 2018, which is nearly identical to the 4,098 who participated five years earlier. Meanwhile, high school football participation declined 7.5% nationally during those years. And for a couple of states that border North Dakota, the drop was even sharper, 9.8% in South Dakota and 16.3% in Montana. Kidder County made the most of its first Dakota Bowl appearance on November 15. The Wolves defeated No. 1-ranked Cavalier 54-32 in the 2019 NDHSAA 9-man state championship game at the Fargo Dome. Kidder County jumped out to a 22-0 lead in the first half, but Cavalier came back to take

the lead to only to see Kidder Co. score 24 in the final quarter for the 54-32 win. Kidder Co. only graduates five seniors. Trinity derails the Night Hawks SHELDON CHRISTENSON FOR THE RECORD

Going into the Region 7 championship match as the #1 seed and undefeated in region play the Night Hawks were where they wanted to be. But their old nemesis Trinity loomed in the way. They had defeated Trinity during the season with a tough come from behind, five set win. In the first championship set Trinity came out on top 25-12, but the Night Hawks took the second set 25-15. The pivotal third set would be a key to the match win as the winner would only need to win one set of the remaining two while the loser would need to win both. Unfortunately, the Night Hawks would fall short as they lost the

next two sets, 25-18 and 25-20. Night Hawk senior Alyssa Andress led the team with 16 kills, one ace and one assist. She also had four digs. Andress, Carolyn Schultz, Talia Carter and Samantha Oase were all named to the All-Region 7 Team and Andress was named the 2019 Senior Athlete of the Year. Other Night Hawk contributions were Oase 7 kills, Schultz 16 digs, Quinn Mellmer 9 digs, and Carter 22 assists & 11 digs. Leading Trinity were Abbey Kubas with 14 aces and Kali Kubas with 31 assists & 10 digs. The NIght Hawks graduate five, Andress, Mellmer, Carter, Schultze and Madelyn Larson. Mayor Shawn Hanna called the meeting to order at 7:00 AM. OCTOBER 9, 2019 MINUTES Council Member Reuther moved to approve the minutes of the September 18th, 2019 meeting. Second by Council Member Drolc and by vote; Drolc voted aye, Lindquist voted aye, Reuther voted aye, Erickson voted aye, and Hanna voted aye; Motion carried. AGENDA: Council Member Drolc moved to approve the agenda as amended. REPORTS: The October financial reports were reviewed by the Council. SALES TAX REPORT: The monthly Sales Tax Report was reviewed the quarterly Sales Tax Report was also viewed. It was mentioned, the declining trend in sales tax funds. HETTINGER HOUSING AUTHORITY: Council Member Drolc updated the board on the positive financial statement. They will be needing to hire someone to shovel snow, as their previous person is moving away for the winter months. SNOW FENCE REQUEST: Council Member Reuther had been in contact with Jennifer Rickertsen about the possibility of putting up a snow fence in a property located by their home on North 6th St in the Papka First Addition. Council Member Drolc believed the property in question is owned by Barbara Rose. Council Member Reuther will contact Ms. Rose on this possibility, the Road Crew would be able to set up the snow fence. KEITH JACKSON: Met with the Council to discuss the Fitness Center. Monday the 25th of November, some of the HHS students will be available to help move equipment

from the previous fitness Center with WRHS and located into the City Fitness Center. The plan is to have the Fitness Center open for the public on December 1st. Council Member Reuther informed the Council that Randy Burwick is working with DSU on possible donation of equipment as DSU is updating their fitness Center. Mr. Burwick will work with Council Member Reuther and Mr. Jackson about the possibility of some of the equipment to be used at the City Fitness Center. Mr. Jackson also questioned if there would be any available stereo or television equipment available in the Fitness Center. The Council did not have an answer at this time. The Council discussed with Mr. Jackson waivers that would need to be signed by any person using the facility. The Council also discussed with Mr. Jackson the fee he would be charged for the use of running his business out of the Fitness Center. Mr. Jackson also noted he may be interested in purchasing his own Fitness Center if fees were too high. HETTINGER CITY CREDIT CARD: The Council discussed the option of applying for a credit card to be used to purchase items. The Auditor obtained information on a state program for a purchasing card, the program is available to all political subdivisions. Council Member Reuther moved to approve applying for the program Card at a maximum credit limit of $2000.00, second by Council Member Erickson, and by vote; Drolc voted aye, Lindquist voted aye, Erickson voted aye, Reuther voted aye, and Hanna voted aye; Motion carried. The Auditor was instructed to get the necessary financial information to them to start the application process. SHERIFF COLLINS; Travis Collins met with the Council to update them on happenings in his department. He informed the Council about a couple issues with excess ice buildup. One of the areas in concern comes from a home on Airport Road and 3rd Ave., the sump pump is piping basement water into the street. With the amount of moisture this year and the increased water table, it has caused excess ice to the City Sidewalk. Council Member Lindquist will follow up with the home owner on the situation. The other excess ice issue was Main Street, every year the sidewalk snow on from Main Street business is an issue. After the last snow fall, some of the business shoveled the sidewalk into the street and then the County/City did not take the snow away due to not enough accumulation. When the snow began to melt it caused more ice than needed. Discussion on what to do to better the process. Possibilities of putting signs on Main Street notifying businesses of snow removal was one way that could help. Sheriff Collins also spoke with the Council on the City generator and the need to have a maintenance schedule. To keep it running correctly. Deputy Casey Joppa was introduced to the Council as the newest member of the Sheriff’s Department, the Council welcomed Ms. Joppa. Sheriff Collins also invited the Council to the Courthouse Christmas Event. Their plan is to have trees decorated, both indoor and outdoor, and also horse drawn buggy rides for the Community in the late afternoon and Evening hours on Friday November 29th. ACDC DIRECTOR: Jasmin Turner updated the Council on the finished appraisal for the Bowling Alley. The next step would be for the City to sign a formal gift receipt, after Mr. Dahl and his attorney finalize their required part. After the gift receipt is signed the bid process can begin. Jasmin will get bid packets prepared and the required advertising completed. Holiday events are be-

ing planned such as the Main Street Christmas tree and the Wake-up Santa Parade. McKenzie Stippich has been hired as the new Assistant in the Chamber Office, she will begin mid-December. EMERGENCY OPERATIONS MANAGER: Michele Gaylord met with the Council, she spoke to them about the importance of the generator maintenance. With a new Highway Supervisor something should be set up for the scheduling of this. Council member Drolc will check into options. Ms. Gaylord also informed the Council that she would be needing to use the Armory for a Red Cross Training next summer. The training exercise is going to be on a levy break in Morton County, the Hettinger Armory would be used as an overflow shelter. Ms. Gaylord questioned the need of a key fob for emergency situations, after discussion the Council decided to have a fob available at the Sheriff’s Department for emergency situations. ARMORY RENOVATIONS: Council Member Reuther updated the Council on the Fitness Center. The plan is to have it open for use on December 1, 2019. Discussion on the purchase of a file cabinet to store required documents and waivers led to the Auditor being asked to find one for purchase or see if one is available to use. The Council wishes to have a small two drawer cabinet that could be housed in the City Conference Room. The Auditor will look into this and get one ordered. The proposed Fitness Center rates would be as follows: Daily Fitness Center Rate $5.00 Monthly Fitness Center Rate $35.00 3 Month Fitness Center Membership $100.00 1 year Fitness Center Membership $360.00 Council Member Drolc moved to approve the set membership prices, second by Council Member Erickson, and by vote; Drolc voted aye, Lindquist voted aye, Erickson voted aye, Reuther voted aye, and Hanna voted aye; Motion carried. Council Member Drolc moved to approve the Armory Fitness Center Rules and Guidelines and also the Armory Fitness Center Waivers after a few adjustments to the original drafted by Council Member Reuther and the City Attorney. They will be available at the time of membership purchase. Second by Council Member Lindquist, and by vote; Drolc voted aye, Lindquist voted aye, Erickson voted aye, Reuther voted aye, and Hanna voted aye; Motion carried. The Council also discussed having a special “introductory price” for the annual membership of $300.00, the special one-year membership rate would be available to purchase in the months of December 2019, January 2020, and February 2020. The Council discussed the rate to charge when classes or instructors want to provide services utilizing the City building and or equipment. After much discussion, Council Member Reuther moved to charge a fee of $300 monthly to Mr. Jackson for his usage of running his business out of the City’s Fitness Center. It would eliminate Mr. Jackson from needing to purchase his own membership to the Fitness Center. Mr. Jackson will also need to provide his own liability insurance for his business and provide documentation every renewal. A contract between Mr. Jackson and the City would need to be signed to begin December 1, 2019 and remain in effect through December 31,2020; at this time, if either party would like to revisit the Contract, it should be done within 60 days of the contract end date ARMORY CUSTODIAL CONTRACT: Council Member Reuther moved to approve the contract between Hettinger City and Trish Schalesky for

custodial work at rate of $2000.00 per month beginning December 1, 2019 through December 31,2020. The Contract would be automatically renewed unless one party would like to revisit the Contract, this should be done within 60 days of the end of contract. Second by Council Member Lindquist, and by vote; Drolc voted aye, Lindquist voted aye, Reuther voted aye, Erickson voted aye, and Hanna voted aye; Motion carried. STREET CLOSURE REQUEST: Ryan Jacobson and RZ Motors requested to block off the South end of Main Street from Centennial Square to the Railroad tracks for the “Drive For Kids Event” that RZ Motors is planning. The event is set for Friday November 29 from 3:30 pm to 5:00pm. The Council was not in favor of blocking Main Street as patrons would be needing to park in that area for the Wake-Up Santa Parade. Council Member Reuther contacted Mr. Jacobson about possibly running his event from 2nd Street, blocking off Centennial Square up to 7th St. Council Member Erickson will contact Suzie’s Woodfire and Lil Nighthawks Daycare businesses, as they are the businesses that would be affected. GAMING PERMIT REQUEST: Council Member Erickson moved to approve the gaming permit for the Nighthawk Pin Club.
