Casey McLennan has been the sole owner since 2011. The Da-Tone Rock has crushed quarry rock products ranging from ¾ inch to 8 foot Rip Rap. We also have sands, screened topsoil, pea gravel and river rock. We can meet your rock needs for any size. We serve businesses, government agencies, homeowners and all individuals needing our rock products. We have grown to a company with 5 to 10 employees, and we have employees that have been with us for 25 + years. We provide living wage jobs to employees and contribute to many aspects of our coastal community. Our goal is to grow and change with our community, neighbors, and friends. HISTORY OF THE DEL NORTE TRIPLICATE
The Del Norte Triplicate can trace its history to April 1879, when the Del Norte Record was launched by printer lJ. Eldredge as a modest advertising sheet. After winning the county printint bid, Eldredge turned to Record into a weekly newspaper a mont later. In 1880, the Del Norte Record bought the Crescent City Herald, which had been first published in 1854, and consolidated the two. In 1911, the name Triplicate was adopted when William McMaster, then publisher and editor of the Del Norte Record, acquired two other newspapers and consolidated all three into a single weekly - the Del Norte Triplicate. The others were the Coast Times, first published in 1910, and the Crescent City News, first published in 1892. In 1916, M.A. Broadbere aquired the Del Norte Triplicate In 1992, the newspaper was sold to John Juza, former publisher of the Gold Beach (Ore.) Reporter
In 1947, Michael F. Neish became owner and publisher of the Del Norte Triplicate. In 1954, it was sold to Hadley Newspapers, owned by Gordon Hadley. In 1964, Triplicate editor James Yarbrough became a partner in Hadley Newspapers at the time that the newspaper offices and much of downtown Crescent City were being rebuilt after a tsunami. In 1969, the company bought out the Crescent City American, first published in 1926, and the Del Norte Triplicate expanded from weekly to twice-weekly.
In 1986, the newspaper was sold to Curtis Tuck. In 1988, the newspaper was sold to Western Communications. In 1990, construction of a printing plant in Smith River was completed. In 2019, the newspaper was purchased by Country Media, Inc.
