Next Meeting Wednesday 26th January Our annual BBQ and Social Evening at the big green shed, Te Toro We are hoping to hold the prizegiving that was cancelled this year at this event, watch our Facebook page for more information.
Bring your own food and drink BBQ available to cook on Counties Sport Fishing Club We are a family friendly West coast club based in Waiuku, just south of Auckland. With around 1000 members, trailer boats make up the majority of our fleet. Celebrating fishing of all kinds, from the humble Gurnard to the mighty Broadbill. Club waters span from Raglan north head to Kaipara south head and include the Manukau harbour and Waikato river.

The onsite technicians are experts in Mercury, Etech, Evinrude & Johnson servicing and repairs as well as Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda. Bits & Bobs AGM Report After numerous delays due to covid restrictions we were finally able to hold our 2021 AGM at the start of December. To comply with the covid restrictions at that time we held it outside at the big green shed. There were no new nominations for committee members and it was proposed that all current committee members continue in their current roles for another year. This was put to the vote and passed. Our treasurer, Nick King, gave a summary of our years finances. Despite what was, in many ways, a challenging year the club remains in a good financial position -which is good news. The other important event was that we have a new life member, more on that on page 10 of this newsletter.

Now that we are all able to fish from our boats, beaches and wharves the NZSFC measure champs will start again on the 1st of December 2021. As we have missed three months - the Champs will continue till July 2022. Don't forget there are great prizes each month for both Senior and Junior anglers and the overall Measure Champs Champion at the end of the competition. So get on out there and see what you can catch.
We have QR posters for the big green shed, which will be prominently displayed whenever there are competitions or meetings there. Please use the Covid Tracer app to sign in when you are there.

Youth Nationals and Trophy Design NZSFC have introduced a Junior Nationals this year. They will be held on the 16th - 30th of April, see the advert on page 7. A competition is also being held to create the designs for the Youth Nationals trophies. Be as creative and imaginative as you can. Categories for trophies are � Champion Angler � Top Club � Best Marine Photo � Funniest Photo. Email designs to NZSFC before 10 February 2022. At secretary@nzsportfishing.org.nz
Old 4 New Lifejackets If some of your life jackets are looking a little the worse for wear Coastguard will again be running their new for old promotion in the new year. See page 12 for details of where they will be and when.

New Life Member
At the AGM earlier this month a new life member was added to our club. I’m sure that Michael “Smudge” Parker will need no introduction to anyone in the club and that everyone will agree that he is definitely deserving of this accolade. Although he would claim he’s just a relative newcomer to the club, in reality he has been involved for over twenty years. During that time he has held a number of roles, including president. He was the driving force behind the Grunter Hunter competition, which has grown to be one of our top competitions. So from everyone in the club a huge “thanks” for all you have done for the club.
