4 November 2010: The European Convention on Human Rights celebrates its 60th anniversary. The year 2010 is an opportunity to remind ourselves that the system established by the Council of Europe 60 years ago has improved the lives of millions of Europeans by bringing about a fundamental change in how they perceive their rights to life, liberty, security, a fair trial, family life and freedom of conscience, religion and expression.
