torrevieja’s new skatepark is set to be named after ignacio echeverría, the ‘skateboard hero’ who was killed in the London terror attacks. on 3 June 2017, a terrorist vehicleramming and stabbing took place in central London. A van was deliberately driven into pedestrians on London
torrevieja’s new skate park will be named after the Spanish skateboard hero. the town hall said, “this new space will be built on the municipal plot located on Avenida de las cortes Valencianas and will bear the name of the well-known skateboard hero, the young Spanish lawyer ignacio echeverría, who died in the London terrorist attack in June 2017 after facing three attackers with his skateboard as the only weapon and saving the lives of several people.” torrevieja currently has a skating area in Parque de la estación but the increase in popularity of skating and skateboarding has meant that the facilities are now too small.
