As we welcome the brighter days of spring and the long, warm evenings of summer, Corvallis Parks & Recreation is excited to share a new season of programs, events, and opportunities designed to bring our community together. Each year, our parks, facilities, and staff work hard to create spaces where people of all ages can connect, grow, and explore – and this guide reflects that continued commitment.
This spring and summer, you’ll find a wide range of programs that support community connection in meaningful ways, whether through recreation, arts, nature, or shared experiences. We know how important it is to feel a sense of belonging, and our team remains focused on offering activities that help residents meet others, stay active, and engage in the life of our community.
Families will find an exciting lineup of camps, classes, and free activities – everything from Touch-A-Truck and Planet Palooza to summer concerts, C3 Game Con, and Family Fun Nights. These programs are designed to spark curiosity and joy for children while providing caregivers opportunities to connect, unwind, and participate alongside them.
While Osborn Aquatic Center continues to navigate the complexities of addressing structural corrosion identified in late 2024, we’re pleased to reopen the outdoor pools for the season. We appreciate your patience and continued support as we work toward long-term solutions that ensure safe and sustainable aquatic opportunities for our community.
As the first blooms return to our natural areas and parks, I invite you to step outside and enjoy all that spring and summer in Corvallis have to offer. Try something new, explore somewhere new, and let this season be filled with play, connection, and discovery.
See you out there, Meredith Petit,

Director Corvallis Parks & Recreation

Corvallis has been named Tree City USA for the 25th consecutive year!
Corvallis, honored with its 17th Growth Award, is a Sterling Tree City for its urban forestry management and Arbor Day celebrations. The city also boasts a strong Heritage Tree Program recognizing trees of exceptional size, age, or historical value.

Greenbelt is conserving land and water in the Willamette Valley for a more resilient future. We connect our community with nature and expand outdoor access for all. We care for over 6,200 acres of prairie, forest, wetlands, rivers, and floodplains across the valley. Join us on the land to explore, learn, and enjoy!

Inventory Corvallis has over 15,000 street trees alone. These street trees, which grow along streets, in parks, and City-owned right of ways, are managed by Corvallis Parks and Recreation Urban Forestry. The collective sum of their ecosystem service benefits exceeds $1,000,000!

Two exciting land acquisitions are expanding park and recreation opportunities in Corvallis.
The City recently finalized the purchase of nearly 20 acres of natural area adjacent to Chip Ross Natural Area, completing a long-standing legacy arrangement with the Harold Nelson Trust. This expansion strengthens one of Corvallis’ most treasured open spaces, supporting habitat protection, trail connectivity, and the continued growth of our community’s natural areas. The Nelson family’s vision and generosity have been instrumental in shaping Corvallis’ open space network for decades, and this addition further honors that legacy.
The City has also acquired 4.8 acres for the future development of a Bike Park, designed to include a range of trails and skill-building features for mountain biking enthusiasts of all ages. This site will serve as both a community hub for riders and an important connection point to popular nearby trail systems. The project will also include improvements to the Chip Ross trailhead and parking area, enhancing access and safety for all visitors.

Please check out our website for details and updates on summer facility, lap swim, exercise and open recreation schedule for summer.

In October 2024, rust and corrosion were discovered on steel beams supporting the natatorium roof, leading the City of Corvallis to close the Aquatic Center for further evaluation. Shoring was installed, structural inspections were completed, and Corvallis School District and City staff reviewed the findings.
In March 2025, the Aquatic Center reopened with modified hours and limited operations, utilizing the outdoor pools. The facility currently operates the front lobby and two outdoor pools for swimming lessons, swim team practices, lap swim, and exercise classes.
The Corvallis School District and the City of Corvallis continue to work collaboratively to finalize funding needs for full reopening. Construction on the natatorium and other facility reopening projects is estimated to begin in fall 2026. For updates on Natatorium Project, visit corvallisoregon.gov/pool

Due to limited operations of the Osborn Aquatic Center American Red Cross Classes including Babysitter’s Training will be on hold Please check our website for updates.
