Did you know that the Water Quality Team ensures safe drinking water for Corpus Christi? Behind every clean drop of water is the Water Utilities Laboratory (WUL), a team of experts ensuring safe drinking water for over 100 public water systems in the Coastal Bend Their most common task? Testing for total coliform bacteria and processing 400 samples monthly to protect public health They also test wastewater to keep local waterways clean

Each year, the WUL performs over 10,000 tests to ensure the City’s drinking water meets all state and federal regulations Their work plays a key role in maintaining the quality and safety of local water supplies Recognized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in 2021, the lab also holds an accreditation from the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP)
Thanks to the WUL team, Coastal Bend residents can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing their water is safe
