A final day back-nine charge led the Old Team to a 28½-25½ win over the Young Team in the annual MGA Battle of the Ages last Friday and Saturday. After Friday, the Young Team had a 9½-8½ lead. They held on to that one-point lead after Saturday’s front nine matches with the score now 18½-17½. Then the Old Team – captained by Danny Brooks – won 11 of 18 points on the back nine to win by three points. Pete Walker won all four of his matches for the Old Team. Kevin Smith and James Aleman tied with 3½ points won for the Young team.

The golf course received a welcome 0.4 inches of rain Thursday. We were able to continue with our shaded areas sod project this week. Six more pallets of zoysiagrass were installed. We finished the remaining section on #11 and a section near #13 fairway landing area is near completion.
