The Offutt School of Business opened its doors to teach future business leaders in Spring 2013. Since that time, the Offutt School of Business has welcomed hundreds of students through a wide range of majors and concentrations and setting them up for success.
The Offutt School offers a unique approach centered in the liberal arts. The liberal arts approach gives our students a global understanding of business and helps our students become responsibly engaged in the world through ethical decision-making, transformative leadership, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
The Offutt School of Business offers:
• Small class sizes with engaged faculty members
• An actively engaged global alumni network
• Opportunities for hands-on learning in every class
• A designated career center to help students develop strong business skills
• Unique student club offerings such as the Scheel Investment Fund and Entrepreneurship Club
• A space called the Cobber Collective dedicated for student businesses to sell and promote products

GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The Offutt School of Business is rooted in four key pillars: leadership, ethics, global understanding, and an entrepreneurial mindset. What sets the Offutt School of Business at Concordia College apart from other business schools is that it’s rooted in the liberal arts.
A primary aspect that helps our students be successful is that the faculty have career experience in the field they are teaching. Ranging from marketing to computer science, our professors have real-world knowledge and bring their expertise into the classroom.
Entrepreneurship is the fastest growing minor in the Offutt School of Business. From Fall 2022 to Spring 2023, the minor grew by 25%.
First-year students make up the majority of declared OSB minors.
This academic year, 80 students from disciplines across campus took the entrepreneurial mindset courses. (What started with 39 students in 2019-20 has doubled in growth in just a few years!)
This year, all entrepreneurship courses were offered for the first time, and the first four students completed the minor this spring.
In Fall 2021, the new bachelor’s degree in music and business entrepreneurship was launched and has continued to grow in interest.
