FROM THE DIRECTORS April already? Unfortunately, Covid-19 is still with us, and dealing with it has become the new normal in both our personal and working lives. Covid-19 outbreaks have kept our management, operations and Covid-19 sub-committee extremely busy dealing with national staff movements interstate, locally and across state borders. The construction industry specific restraints, statebased government issued policies, lockdowns, physical distancing and isolation are all things that can make us feel anxious, stressed and worried. Please look after your mental wellbeing and look out for those around you as we tackle these challenges together. Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing Group (CDPG) are working closely with Incolink to register for early Covid-19 vaccination roll outs. Chadd & I would like to welcome all new staff members across CDPG nationally. You have joined our company at an exciting time as we lay the foundations for a strong year ahead. Congratulations to both Khayne Horman and Daniel Cooper who competed and finished with podium accolades in the 2021 Apprentice Skills Contest that took place at PICAC in Brunswick on World Plumbing Day. Our pipeline of contracted works, opportunities and bluesky projects are very healthy. Whilst not getting easier to secure, CDPG are always looking at opportunities and operational improvements This including design initiatives and prefabrication that will keep us ahead of our competitors. We have had a great start to the year securing several new and exciting projects nationally. Congratulations to our dedicated estimating teams, directors and managers for these very important new projects.
This time of year, is extremely busy for our management teams as they prepare for our insurance renewals nationally. Insurance underpins our entire industry and businesses in a number of ways. This is not limited to public liability but includes Victorian ministerial order and self-certification, contractual requirements of professional indemnity insurance, increased requests for contractor’s risk policies, consequential loss and jointly named public liability policies, work cover, vehicle and equipment insurance, directors’ insurance, work and contents, freight and travel insurance. Not to mention our individual industrial agreements, which include income protection insurances, leisure time, broken bones, capital benefits, dental and accident covers, portable sick leave, mutual benefit insurance and so on. There is one clear example of misalignment of insurance covers we face as an industry. In Victoria there are critical discrepancies between the Ministerial Order (Licensed Plumber General Insurance Order) and the Building Act. Plumbers remain potentially liable under the Building Act for 10 years following completion of works; however, our certificate of currency insurance only covers the first six years. Whilst math isn’t my strength, that means there is potentially a 4-year period where plumbing practitioners and business are practically uninsured? The importance and due diligence required by management and operations during this time is crucial to ensure we provide our group of companies the best level of cover, whilst understanding the policy schedules, our exclusions and risk minimisation. This also highlights the importance of our companies’ continued investment for continuing professional development, our investment in the business future information technology systems and our 3rd party endorsed quality systems. On a national level, there has been development of legislation to amend the Mutual Recognition Act 1992 (MRA) by the Prime Minister’s Deregulation Taskforce. This seeks to allow workers to cross borders with an automatic right to work in another jurisdiction/state without the need to inform or report to that regulator, and applies to a wide range of industries.

When applied, the concept would be supported in principle by national companies such as CDPG. Significant questions remain about how MRA will be implemented. We believe that a workable scheme can be developed for registered plumbers which would allow CDPG to use our national strength of mobile resources from state to state at any time for project specific related outcomes. Watch this space. We are again proud to have been given the opportunity to be working in partnership with the industry not-for-profit organisation, Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC), to build the new facility at the existing training centre in Queensland. It will expand training capacity from 600 to 800 apprenticeships per year to train apprentices in fire protection, gas plumbing, carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills. The new world-class training facilities will include gas training equipment, lower carbon technology upgrades, roof-access work platforms, special hazards fire systems and state of the art training rooms. The project is expected to employ 70 apprentices during construction and support a total of 100 jobs. We would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Easter. Scott & Chadd Directors

PARTNERSHIP PATHWAY PLUMBING SERVICES CDPG are excited to announce our new partnership with 100% Indigenous owned and operated plumbing company Pathway Plumbing. Our relationship commenced in 2020 with a joint venture providing hydraulic services for the Docklands Studios Melbourne Sound Stage 6 Project for client Kane Constructions. Since working together on this project, it became clear that our two companies share similar vision and values in relation to providing outstanding service to our clients. After lengthy discussions with Pathway Plumbing ‘s Directors Ricky Morris and Kaelun Brown it was clear that a partnership would provide many great opportunities for the training and mentoring of indigenous plumbers. This partnership has seen the recent employment of three indigenous apprentice plumbers who are enrolled to complete their Certificate III in Plumbing at Master Plumbers Brunswick Campus. The apprentices will be located at various work sites throughout Victoria – please welcome the lads if you get the opportunity.

VICTORIA HEAD OFFICE RENOVATIONS Works are progressing well with the majority of the renovations at our head office near completion. The upgrades include a new lift, updated amenities, workstations and offices. Thank you to the Vic team who have showed nothing but patience throughout the renovations. I would also like to thank Jason from JTP Constructions who has been instrumental in ensuring minimal disruptions during construction. We have some exciting developments to be rolled out in each of our state offices which we will be announcing in the near future.

INTRODUCING OUR PEOPLE AND CULTURE MANAGER – JO BOMM Jo recently joined Cooke & Dowsett as People and Culture Manager, bringing her HR expertise to the team. Prior to joining, she managed the Human Resources function in small to mid-size companies in industries including food & beverage manufacturing, retail and hospitality. Jo has over 10 years’ experience in providing sound HR advice to senior leadership teams, managing the full employee life cycle, addressing staff performance issues and grievances, interpretation of multiple awards and coordination of workforce requirements. In addition, Jo has experience in developing and implementing HR plans, coordinating HR programs and training, building employee wellness and capability and maintaining HR policies and procedures. Jo is focused on continuing to make Cooke & Dowsett a great place to work through the functions of business partnerships, talent and performance, HR operations and training and development and in collaboration with the leadership team, develop a culture among staff that is open to change and supports continuous quality improvement, teamwork, respect and accountability. World Plumbing Day – March 11
Congratulations to Khayne Horman who recently completed his apprenticeship with Cooke & Dowsett. Khayne who started as a 1st Year Apprentice with Cooke & Dowsett in 2016 was presented with a certificate of appreciation recently onsite at 100 Queens Street by General Manager Matt Quick (Left) and WHSEQ Manager Kevin McKeown (Right). Khayne also received a M18 two-piece power pack and adaptable pipe wrench donated by Milwaukee.
Annual Apprentice Skills Contest World Plumbing Day is celebrated globally on March 11. It is a day to acknowledge and celebrate the vital contribution of skilled plumbing professionals and the essential role plumbing plays in societal health and wellbeing. The annual apprentice skills contest took place once again at the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) Brunswick on March 11. This one-day competition is designed to test apprentices’ skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This year CDPG was represented by Khayne Horman for the second year in a row together with debutant Daniel Cooper. Congratulations to all of the competitors involved – shout out to our 3rd Year Apprentice Daniel Cooper who took home 3rd Place in the contest thanks to PICAC for a great day.
We sat down with Khayne and asked him a few questions regarding his apprenticeship experience with Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing Group. What made you interested in plumbing? A close family friend, I was interested in all the different pathways that plumbing offers. What makes a good apprentice? A good work ethic, the willingness to learn and develop and being easy to get along with. What have you enjoyed most about your apprenticeship? I was lucky enough to go on apprentice exchange program a few years ago to Denmark. It was a once in a lifetime experience. What areas/ sectors do you hope to gain more experience in?Keep learning the trade, and eventually the administration side of plumbing. What do you want to achieve now you have completed your apprenticeship?I want to complete extra courses and possibly go to night school. How do you spend the majority of your leisure time? Camping, playing footy and 4wding. What advice would you give to a 1st Year Plumbing Apprentice?Work hard, listen and don’t stop asking questions! Well done Khayne on the completion of your apprenticeship we look forward to watching your journey with Cooke & Dowsett Plumbing Group.

Docklands Studio taking shape
It has been a very busy start to the year for the team, with us successfully securing the Victoria Clinic and Gordon Culinary School projects, both with Kane and the CSL Hawara project with Probuild. The estimating team have been busy pricing a range of different projects within our key market sectors, including new rail stations, health, defence and regional projects. We are expecting to announce a number of new projects over the coming months providing a solid pipeline of projects in Victoria. A number of projects have either completed or are nearing completion including the State Netball & Hockey Centre, Sunshine Emergency Hospital Department, Lilydale Grove Apartments, Quest Ballarat, Alara Apartments, Watsonia Army Barracks, St John of God Hospital, and the Deakin University Student Accommodation.
Kane Constructions have reached out to us to assist them with the completion of the Ballarat Government Hub Project. This project will house up to 1,000 Victorian Government workers, including up to 600 public sector positions relocated from Melbourne, helping to revitalise a major part of the Ballarat CBD, generate long-term job growth, increase business confidence and private sector investment. Our works include the installation of roof sheets and wall cladding, managing 30+ roofers from 4-5 different companies within a challenging 6–8-week program. We have also appointed a new Project Manager and Administrator for our Geelong office, further strengthening and committing to our team with local resources. These appointments will free up our Melbourne resources to deliver the upcoming projects and provide stability within the local team. We have recently appointed a Design Manager to lead the team and provide us with the capabilities to innovate and identify efficiencies within our designs, making us more competitive and to better service our client’s needs. 100 Queen Street Melbourne
QUEEN STREET After 17 months at 100 Queens Street, I am pleased to report it is near completion with a couple of months to go until final hand over. It’s been a long but rewarding project, to the teams credit the 30-year-old heritage listed building looks amazing. We had live sewer diversions and cut ins to deal with as well as cold and hot water services all within a live working environment. Another challenge for the team was the changeover and replacement of 3 water tanks all whilst keeping to program and ensuring the site did not run out of water. Final fit-off and commissioning will be completed over the coming month. 100 Queen Street Melbourne

Ballarat Government Hub Cladding & Roofing
DOCKLANDS STUDIO Cooke & Dowsett have hit the ground running at Docklands Studio for client Kane Constructions, already completing a large component of the in ground hydraulic and fire service works surrounding the new studio building. This project will be a major asset for Melbourne in the future creating a state-of-the-art space for television and movie production right on the door step of the Melbourne CBD.

Ricky Morris and his Pathway Plumbing team are a 100% Indigenous owned and operated family business and are completing the in ground civil works alongside Cooke & Dowsett which has been challenging given the works proximity to the edge of the Yarra River and Moonee Ponds Creek. They Pathway Plumbing team have impressed us from the outset with their hard-working nature and highquality works. We look forward to a longstanding relationship for years to come. Josh Farrella breaking ground at Xavier High School 2021 started quite busy for Cooke & Dowsett Albury (CDA), both Dubbo & Wagga Hospital Projects are on the home run and crews on both jobs are putting in a fantastic efforts to get them over the line. We have been successful on a number of projects varying in size and location. CDA is partnering long term client Hansen Yuncken for an upgrade and extension to an existing aged care facility here in Albury, Joss Construction has awarded us a project in Young NSW and we have a number of smaller projects coming on line over the coming weeks. There is plenty for CDA Estimator Johnny to price at present but some areas of our market are extremely competitive and we have had to walk up from a couple of decent projects of late. This being said we are positive on a number of tenders which are waiting for final client approvals, so fingers crossed. Both Craig, Paul & Hannah are all doing us proud to make sure we deliver projects to the best of our ability, not only on site but on the administrative side as well, lots of positive feedback from our clients. We recently had Rod & Steph in Albury providing us all with some in-house training including the changeover to the online / digital ITP process and FireDoc which all the participants benefited from, thanks guys. LUTHERAN AGED CARE We have commenced works on site in the new year with the first of 8 stages getting underway. Ben Nicholls is site managing this project with one of our long-term builders Hansen Yuncken. Over the next 4 years we will upgrade and double the capacity of the existing facility, Ben may be able to move straight in at the completion of the project in 2024!
XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL Early works are progressing well at this newly awarded local project with another long-term builder Joss Constructions. Jack Avage has taken the reins and is site managing his first project (looking to stepping out from his uncle Ian’s shadow) and create a new path.
HAY MULTIPURPOSE SERVICE PROGRAM (MPS) Hay Hospital Project is nearing completion out in the South West of NSW. This project has seen the extension and upgrade of various wings to the existing hospital along with external infrastructure upgrades to essential services. Liam Chaplin a one-time apprentice has progressed through the ranks and is now also site managing his first project. The location of the project along with existing site conditions have provided some challenges along the way for Liam and his team. As usual CDA have implemented their can-do attitude and have overcome these challenges to remain on track for completion by the end of April.

NPAV – Level Basement 2 Unisex Amenities Hello to the Cooke & Dowsett family from your northern neighbours!! Easter means 2 things - plenty of chocolate eggs and the footy is back!! Can the mighty Tigers make it a 3peat and can the Storm do it again without Cameron Smith? From a construction point of view, we have the traditional week-long shutdown where hopefully everyone can relax, recharge and enjoy some downtime with loved ones. As you may have heard the great Scott Dowsett has done a lot of work behind the scenes in helping us secure the next stage in the PICAC development for our Queensland Plumbing Industry apprentices. Hutchison’s are the builder and we look forward to working closely with them again (same team who worked on PICAC Narre Warren). The $20M QLD Government funded project will be a state-of-the-art training facility, which will focus on the emerging Hydrogen sector, the first of its kind in Australia. Good luck to Chris Mutimer and Brett Miskin who are looking after this project. One of the projects main criteria is that the building is to be built by apprentices for apprentices!! Over at NPAV the in-ground works have been a touch slow due to poor weather and the fact we are right next to the Brisbane river doesn’t help seepage. However, the boys have just installed the 5000ltr sewer tank 5m below ground level and have just finished laying drains for the first amenities block to the new development.
The Mirvac team presiding over Tulloch House at Eagle Farm racecourse, continue to set the benchmark on how to manage a Tier 1 site. This job is flying and a pleasure to be involved with as the structure has topped out with the Level 9 pour well ahead of schedule. We have 2 levels of stacks remaining, rough ins are going hammer and tong and fit off is to start just after Easter. With a PC date of September set, we will be sad to see this job finish as it has been a ripper so far, the Mirvac team on that project have been a dream to work for and with. We would work for these guys on every job if we could, shout out to Panos & Bruce. Up in Cairns Luke and the boys are just about to close out the Refurb component of this job. It’s been a slog but the end is near. Thanks to all the guys who have helped us get this one over the line, but sadly the next stage has been delayed so it means the team will need to disperse and hopefully come back once the 2nd stage gets up and running. Finally, I would like to welcome Andy Thompson (4th year apprentice), Jordan Lowth, Chris Humrich, Dion Ruska and Laurie Messinger to the C&D Qld team. We also welcome Alyssa Brandley to the office as our new project administrator - her bubbly and always smiling personality is a breath of fresh air to the office! Justin Pitts QLD Manager
Across the river at 443 Queen St, the jump is at Level 41 and the top out of this extremely challenging project is in sight - 6 floors to go! We have multiple teams roughing in up and down the tower trying to make up the lost time on this project and we are about to start fit off crews doing the same as well! If anyone has any hair left at the end of this project it will be a miracle!

Structural being erected at the Newman Hospital – Ground slab is near completion.
It’s been a busy start to the year here in Perth with the successful signing of a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. This has been a long time in the making and it is great to now have this in place and approved by the Fair Work Commission. We recently completed two projects in the lead up to Christmas including Woolworths Shopping Centre at Inglewood for Broad Constructions and the Parmelia Hilton Project for ADCO Constructions. These projects have been a great achievement here in Perth and further strengthen our relationships with the builders involved. The start of the year has looked very promising with a large amount of tendering and negotiating having taken place on the run into Christmas and early this year. As a result, we have further expanded our work force here in Perth. We would like welcome Mitch Newey (Project Manager) and Katie Hollingshead (Project Administrator) to the Perth team and look forward to the challenges and opportunities that the new year brings. We are working closely with NUDJ Plumbing Services and BHP on the Newman Hospital Project. BHP offered us to use some of their apprentices to help them gain an insight into the commercial side of the building industry, given their regular duties are usually focussed on maintenance at the various mine camps around the Pilbara. Alisa Parr is usually based at Warrawandu Mine Camp and is involved in the plumbing to the kitchen and amenities. Alisa was apprehensive about moving over on secondment to a commercial building site with NUDJ Plumbing Services but has really enjoyed the different work activities and is learning a lot. She is planning to extend her stay with NUDJ Plumbing Services here for a further 6 months and we are also in the process of signing on a second female BHP apprentice.

The Amazing Pacifica
Hope we all got to enjoy a decent break and some summer sun after a year that was..…let’s say 2020 won’t be forgotten. After a mad rush to get Pacifica in the best possible position for hand over, we finally achieved the milestone for practical completion on January 14th 2021. Up against many challenges for 2020 like the rest of the world, with not a lot of movement in the final handover date to compensate for that, the team put in a massive effort to push hard to hand over the tallest residential building in Auckland and New Zealand. We are an eclectic bunch over here in NZ ranging from permanent CDNZ plumbers, to valued sub-contractors and skilled labour hire companies. A big thanks to all the local NZ crew that came together as one crazy family for CDNZ and help deliver a great centre piece for the Auckland skyline on time and on budget.
On a personal note I wish to thank both Chadd and Scott for giving me the chance to come over here and take on two of my biggest projects (Bunnings Westgate/Pacifica) personally, but also in Auckland and New Zealand in their respective spaces. There are a lot of exciting opportunities ahead for 2021 and beyond for CDNZ, standby for more exciting news. Speaking of exciting news, Tom Hoult and his wife Sophie welcomed their first-born son William (Billy) Hoult. Congratulations on the new arrival guys. Looking forward to a great 2021 even with Covid-19 and the ongoing threats of earthquakes and Tsunami’s. Stay safe everyone and enjoy what the future holds. Gary Moore Project Manager
A special mention to Maria Van Doorn our PA, Maria managed to break her ankle in 3 places 2 weeks after coming out of lockdown last year and has had to see out the year from home learning to walk again. Even in her limited capacity Maria was able to assist in helping getting all the compliance and QA items over the line with both Pacifica and Bunnings, super effort. Obtaining PC close to target in Auckland has not gone unnoticed within the industry, it’s a credit to the ICON team and all subcontractors to do what others were saying could not be done. Congratulations to all, especially ICON PM Ben Wrigley and his team, it has been a privilege to be involved in such an exciting project – we will miss those views. The Pacifica Apartments have been filling up fast with happy and excited new tenants, all enjoying the great Waitemata Harbour views just in time for the Americas Cup (some sporting thing the Kiwis are actually good at!) There are a limited number left so get in quick if you have some spare cash around. I am trying to convince Chadd and Scott we need the super penthouse at L53/L54 as our NZ headquarters!

The CSIRO project for Arete is keeping Sammy and the boys busy. The service installations are nearing completion with fixture fit-off kicking off and progressing well. Sam and his team have completed a couple of safety audits with the highest scores, also the high quality of workmanship has been acknowledged by the builder and client representatives – keep up the good work. Jordan Purcell our site manager at Vic Health has hit the ground running with leading a small office fit out project for Harris HMC. The project includes multiple kitchens and a small amenities block. Project completion will be early April 2021. The carpark redevelopment in Flemington for Dallas Construction is well underway. The redevelopment includes civil stormwater works, concrete curbs and roads. Carl Misson is assisting with project management of the project, organising PPM labor and subcontractors whilst negotiating with the builder. Homes Victoria engaged Project Plumbing and Maintenance (PPM) with sewer upgrade works at 68 Dunlop Ave. The project includes the replacement of the existing pipes from the stacks to the sewer main. Excavation works up to 2.5m depth and working around live services like water, gas, electrical and optic fiber, challenging our Site Manager Carl Misson to deliver this project in a safe and professional way.
The sales at our construction site in Woodend have substantially increased after the Covid-19 lockdown has finished. As a result our progress on site is nearly back to full capacity. Stephen Dale is managing the progress on site with apprentices from the Master Plumbers. After a few months of negotiations with the Parliament House of Victoria PPM was engaged to carry out investigations works regarding the existing water and fire supply to the facility. James Climas has taken the lead to monitor the investigation and testing plus the documentation of the results. As usual Hayley is kept busy with scheduling maintenance projects and coordinating multiple office duties. Hayley always presents with a smile on her face and is more than willing to help out where required – terrific effort. Congratulations to Courtney Barnes and her partner on the safe delivery of their first baby Ivy Raine Leonard. PPM wish Ethan Minns all the best with his relocation to WA. Ethan is heading to Carnarvon to join the Cooke & Dowsett team currently working on site.

Chinatown Revitilisation Project
www.nudjplumbingservices.com.au It has been a hot and busy start to 2021 for NUDJ and the team, we kicked off the year with the canteen refurbishment at Broome Primary School. A fire destroyed part of the historical school on the 12th January 2020 which left the Broome community devastated. We were glad to be part of the rebuilding process for the community especially the youth in Broome. NUDJ plumbers Blake Binswani and Lyle Murphy have commenced work at the Kilto Fine Meat Station 60km North of Broome - building the new abattoir for the processing of the cattle in the fine dining restaurants around the state. The Chinatown Revitilisation Project in Broome commenced at the end of January and is funded in partnership by the Shire of Broome, the WA State Government and Tourism WA. The project comprises of a series of works developed over two stages designed to improve the vibrance of Broome’s Chinatown. NUDJ plumbers Blake and Lyle are also working on this project and have been tasked with the installation of new drinking fountains which will keep the boys busy until April 2021.
We are proud to announce we have secured additional contract works with Water Corporation which sees us visiting selected properties in Broome to assist with water saving efficiency fixtures, leaks and tapware with Kullarri Building. We have secured the day use facilities out on the Dampier Peninsular in the remote communities of Lombadina and Beagle Bay. Now the Cape Leveque Road is sealed this will see an influx of tourists which will no doubt be a beautiful experience for those who haven’t been to this part of Australia. Definitely a must see! Also, a great opportunity for myself as I have ancestral and family connection to Beagle Bay Nyull Nyull Country as well as Blake our 4th year apprentice who is a Bard boy from Lombadina. With one of the best fishing spots located in Australia we might sneak the tinnie up! With the first home owners grant on offer throughout WA we have secured a couple of new house constructions through Kullarri Building, whom we’ve got a great working relationship with. We continue to work with Sodexo and have signed a 5-year contract for plumbing maintenance out on the ship, we look forward to the beautiful scenic helicopter trips. I can’t help but feel that the way 2020 played out with the masks on, masks off, masks on again is going to be the new norm hence forth, particularly until the vaccine rolls out, and even then, we are likely to see strain 2, 3 and 4 and so on, undoubtedly extending ongoing management challenges. At the time of writing Tasmania is Covid-19 free with 0 active cases which is great news. The economy and in particular the building and construction sector is strong, led mainly by the new home stimulus, but also developer confidence seems to have rebounded as we head out of the severe shutdowns the country and world went through in 2020. The main challenge at present has been localised interstate hotspots when new cases emerge which cause travel restrictions between Tasmania and the mainland. After a couple of false starts and alterations to dates we were finally grateful in early March to be able to welcome Rod Smith and Stephanie Hobbins to the island to spend a couple of days with us to provide some training and development for our team. Of particular highlight and benefit was a new ‘Project Review’ process which carries out an in-depth analysis of a project in its early stages to ensure the delivery team gets off to the best possible start. An early brainstorming session to pull apart project specifics, identify risk items, challenges, opportunities, and ‘smarts’ to ensure the project is given the best possible chance from the outset. Judging from the feedback from site managers and project teams on the 2 projects that we performed the reviews on, they are a very worthwhile exercise. Our year also got off to a flying start with Cooke & Dowsett Rosetta (CDR) and group estimator Floody bagging a couple of great wins, including 2 more flagship projects for Hobart. despite clapping in his run-up for the hattrick, unfortunately it wasn’t to be, however this should not diminish his efforts to secure two projects in two days being the Derwent Entertainment Centre (DEC) with Vos Constructions and The Elliott apartments with Fairbrother.

In ground services are all but done and ground level rough ins are progress on program. To ensure budgets are met, the team have done a good job in procurement and obtaining multiple quotes to gain best pricing.

PARLIAMENT SQUARE PRECINCT (PSQ) It is with fondness and excitement that I write that hopefully by the time the next edition of the CDPG newsletter goes to print, CDR’s flagship project PSQ will finally be completed. Having first walked the site at a tender briefing in 2013 (no, that’s not a typo) this iconic project is finally starting to draw to a close. Site Manager Nathan McIntyre, 2IC Adam Luttrell and the entire project team a frantically closing out the project over the next couple of months. It certainly has been an incredible effort from all involved, including the Cooke & Dowsett Design Department who made it all possible. Keep an eye out for a special article feature of ‘The Tasman’ (which is the name of the Marriott Hotel) in the Australian National Construction Review Magazine’s next edition.
DERWENT ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE (DEC) The Derwent Entertainment Centre is Hobart’s leading entertainment and sporting venue located in Glenorchy. The planned redevelopment will transform this venue into a world class multisport and entertainment precinct. Our friends and partners Vos Constructions have undertaken an ambitious project in partnership with the Tasmanian Government and LK Property Group the owner of Australia’s NBL competition, to have the venue ready for the first bounce of the 2021 NBL season. The stadium will be home to Tasmania’s first NBL team the JackJumpers. There is no time for delay, the program is a very tight one with multiple work teams and work fronts working concurrently.
