The State Route 85 safety and enhancement project in Gila Bend, Ariz., consists of demolishing the SR-85 and Business Route 8 (B-8) interchange in front of the ADOT yard, constructing a new elevated intersection at State Route 85 (Pima Street) and Business 8, and constructing a wider bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad. This $13.5 million state and federally- funded project is just over one mile long. The project is scheduled to be completed by late 2012. The project is headed up by Haydon Building Corp of Phoenix. Haydon is performing earthwork, grading, structural concrete work, bridge work and the construction of six box culverts. โWeโre running on schedule with no delays,โ said Scott Jones, Haydon project manager. Jones noted that during the first few months of work, a little over five acres of land was roped off to separate the work zone from an archeological site until all artifacts were collected and mapped. Eco-Friendly LiuGong Reports Increased Codes Split Earnings for First Quarter โ11 Home Builders LiuGong Machinery Corp. announced first quarter earnings, reporting $93.35 million in net profit on $905.58 million total sales revenue. This represents nearly a 72 percent increase in revenue from the same period the previous year. After posting record profits for 2010, LiuGong shows no slowdown of its pace of sales as it enters 2011. LiuGong executives noted total 2011 first quarter profits were $111.15 million. The company reported $.12 in earnings per share. Company performance outstripped first
quarter 2010โs reported figures by a huge margin. During the same time last year, LiuGong had reported $507.02 million in total sales revenue.
