Interstate 95 flows across the northern tip of Delaware and through Wilmington, then northward to Philadelphia, New York City and Boston. The highway is the busiest in the state, carrying 220,000 vehicles on an average day.
Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has identified four bridges in this area as particularly in need of repair. Although the bridge structures are in good shape, the bridge decks contain numerous patches and potholes. In addition, the approach slabs and deck joints need to be replaced.
Chance Malkin, area engineer of DelDOT, is leading the rehabilitation work. He told Construction Equipment Guide, “These repairs and maintenance improvements are necessary to extend the service life of the structures and maintain a safe, reliable roadway for the traveling public.”
The busy 10 lanes of traffic are challenging to manage during construction. The project is expected to last two years and is approximately 40 percent complete. The cost of the project will be $42 million.
Workers are using an overlay of Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC), which is roughly four times stronger than traditional concrete. The concrete contains steel fibers, vastly increasing the strength of the concrete.
“This sturdy material will increase the life of the bridge deck as well as be more resistant to salt intrusion,” said Malkin.
“Managing traffic on this busy road is difficult, so this concrete

For much of the 20th century, the IBM campus in Endicott, N.Y., stood as a symbol of industrial growth and technological progress.
Founded in the early 1900s in the Triple Cities region, IBM became one of the area’s largest employers, shaping the local economy and the lives of generations of workers.
Long after production ceased, the connection between the community and the site remained strong. Many residents had parents or grandparents who worked there. But after nearly two decades of vacancy, the massive complex had deteriorated beyond recovery. Aging concrete, obsolete infrastructure and structural decay left no viable path forward other than demolition.
The responsibility for dismantling the former campus fell to Gorick Construction, a family-founded contractor with roots dating back to 1945. The scope was substantial: approximately 430,000 sq. ft. spread across 19 interconnected buildings, constructed over multiple decades with varying elevations, materials and structural systems.
Unlike modern facilities built from a unified set of drawings, the IBM complex had evolved incrementally. Buildings were added onto buildings, utilities were routed through successive expansions and reliable as-built documentation was limited or nonexistent. Before demolition could advance, crews had to locate and plan around underground and existing utilities while continuously verifying elevations and structural transitions.
Project sequencing was critical. Crews could not simply work from one end of the site to the other; progress depended on maintaining access, relocating utilities and ensuring that demolition activities did not compromise adjacent structures or safety zones.

Safety considerations defined every phase of the project. The structures were classified as condemned and contained friable asbestos, requiring strict controls. Continuous air monitoring, perimeter containment and water suppression systems were used to maintain a zero-dust-tolerance environment.
Workers operated in protective equipment, and access to the site was carefully managed to protect both crews and the surrounding community. According to site leadership, safety planning extended beyond

employees to account for neighboring contractors and pedestrians near the perimeter.
As demolition progressed, Gorick adopted what the team described as an “assembly line in reverse.” Excavators worked ahead, dismantling structural elements, while dedicated crews followed behind to separate materials.
Concrete was sorted by size and destination, metals were removed for recycling, and construction and demolition debris was managed to maintain steady site flow.
Approximately 15–20 percent of the concrete was recycled, along with nearly all recoverable metal. This parallel workflow allowed demolition, sorting, and hauling operations to continue simultaneously without interrupting forward progress.
The scale and height of the structures required demolition equipment configured for ultra-high reach work. Gorick used Caterpillar demolition machines, including a Cat 352 ultra-high demolition excavator, see IBM page 86

plete, it will carry key water, sewer, communication and electrical utilities beneath the existing and future NEC railroad tracks.
Since spring 2025, crews worked diligently on both shafts and tunnel in a coordinated effort. The east shaft reached its final depth in August 2025.
The west shaft reached its final bottom elevation in February 2026, and the tunnel breakthrough occurred that same month.
Next, the team will begin routing existing utility lines through the tunnel and shafts and reconnecting them back into the main city systems. This work is expected to conclude in fall 2027.
When completed, this part of Baltimore will have modern, more reliable underground utility infrastructure that supports safer and more resilient service for neighboring communities.

Fay, S&B USA Construction (Fay), a Pittsburgh-based firm specializing in heavy highway and heavy civil infrastructure projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, has been awarded a $31 million contract by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to install new sound barrier walls on part of I-264 in the city of Portsmouth, Va.
The project consists of constructing approximately 8,960 linear ft. of sound barrier wall in nine sections along I-264 eastbound and westbound in the city of Portsmouth. This site is between Rodman Avenue and the Fredericksburg Boulevard Interchange, and between Martin Luther King, Jr. Expressway and Richmond Road.
Construction will begin in the spring of 2026 and will continue through October 2027 in three phases:
• Phase 1 — install temporary traffic control, clear and grub sites and relocate intelligent transportation systems (ITS);
• Phase 2 — install drilled shaft foundations and 160,000 sq. ft. of sound wall panels; and
• Phase 3 — complete work including grading, paving, seeding and permanent barriers and signage.
I-64/I-464 Interchange
In another highway project for VDOT in Hampton Roads, Fay is advancing a companion design-build project at the I-
64/I-464 interchange in Chesapeake, improving ramp connectivity and adding a direct connection from I-64 east to Route 168 south Fay expects to complete this project in late summer 2027.
Driven by a growing portfolio of work across Hampton Roads, Fay recently relocated to a larger, modern office near the town center of Virginia Beach at 200 Bendix Road, Suite 200. The move reflects the company’s expanding regional footprint and a commitment to building the operational infrastructure needed to deliver complex, large-scale projects in the market.
The new space provides an environment purpose-built for client meetings, partner collaboration and vendor engagement, signaling Fay’s long-term investment in the region and readiness to pursue work at-scale with the right partners.
“Our new office was purposefully secured with growth in mind,” said Ryan Surrena, president of Fay. “Locating downtown puts us closer to clients, engineering firms and construction partners, right in the middle of the projects we’re pursuing. Hampton Roads is a priority market for us, and this VDOT contract and new office reflect the investment we’re making in the people and infrastructure to compete and be successful here.”

Magni America announced that Carter Machinery has been named the company’s 2025 Dealer of the Year, recognizing the dealer’s performance, market development and commitment to supporting Magni’s rotating and fixed telehandler product lines throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
The award was presented during ConExpo-Con/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas.
Carter Machinery, the authorized Magni dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C., delivered strong growth in 2025 by expanding awareness of Magni’s rotating telehandler technology and supporting contractors across infrastructure, commercial construction and industrial markets.

A key factor in Carter Machinery’s success has been the company’s investment in a dedicated Magni product specialist, Joey Toppings, whose focus on jobsite demonstrations, contractor
engagement and application support has helped customers better understand the versatility and productivity advantages of Magni rotating telehandlers. The strong col-
laboration between Toppings and Joe Leinwol, sales manager of Magni America, has played an important role in driving market adoption across the territory.
“Carter Machinery has built a strong foundation for Magni in the Mid-Atlantic,” said Leinwol. “Having a dedicated specialist like Joey Toppings working closely with our team has made a tremendous difference. That partnership — combined with the strength of the Carter sales, rental and service organization — has helped contractors see the real value Magni rotating telehandlers bring to the job site.”
“Our customers are always looking for ways to increase efficiency and productivity on the job site,” said Toppings. “Magni rotating telehandlers allow contractors to replace multiple machines with one versatile solution. Working closely with Joe Leinwol and the Magni team has allowed us to demonstrate those advantages directly to customers, and it’s been a true team effort.” For more information, visit magnith.com.

Groome Industrial Service Group has more than four decades of experience repairing and maintaining hangar doors, having started a separate hangar door division in 1979. The business office services from inspection and repair to refurbishment and replacement.
So, when its crews were being called out more and more to repair a client’s old cable lift bifold doors on hangars at the Trenton-Mercer Airport in New Jersey, the team from Groome Industrial knew the doors were nearing
the end of their service life.
The client was Signature Aviation, an aviation hospitality company with private terminals at airports across the globe. Its base at Trenton-Mercer includes two large hangars, where it became apparent the doors were unsafe. Together, Signature Aviation and Groome Industrial agreed the time had come to install something new.
Both companies also had good experiences with Schweiss Doors. Signature Aviation has several Schweiss manufactured doors on
hangars across the United States and Groome Industrial has installed many Schweiss Doors. When the decision was made to replace the TrentonMercer hangar doors, both parties agreed Schweiss was the company to call.
“We had a good kind of feeling about it from that standpoint,” said Ryan Esposito, vice president of engineering of Groome Industrial Service Group of Denville, N.J. “It made that decision definitely a lot easier.”

ARTBA reports that bridges are a big focus for any state highway programs. The association logged more than 27,000 structures in need of repair or replacement.
According to the association, states now have access to the full $26.6 billion available in the new bridge formula program over five years.
“Unlike the core highway program, agencies have four years to commit these funds toward eligible projects,” said ARTBA.
As of December 2025, states have committed $15 billion toward more than 7,350 projects, nearly 57 percent of available funds.
“And, as projects get under way, states have been reimbursed for $8.5 billion in work completed,” it said.
In its 2025 bridge report, ARTBA found that 220,295 spans across the country need repair. It noted that 74,472 actually should be replaced.
The association logged approximately 222,000 bridges in need of repair in 2024 and more than 76,000 needing replacement.
Of the bridges needing repair, 41,677 are rated in poor condition — down from
42,067 in 2024 — and classified as “structurally deficient,” reported ARTBA.
“Motorists cross these structures 163 million times a day,” said Alison Premo Black, ARTBA’s senior vice president and chief economist.
Premo Black tracked and analyzed the bridge data and found that California was among states that declined in the number of bridges in poor condition:
Iowa, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Nebraska rounded out the top five with the biggest drop in poor-condition spans.
The number of bridges in poor condition rose in North Carolina, New York, Illinois, Oregon and Wisconsin.
“The results help underscore the importance of the federal bridge formula program, which provides $27.5 billion for states through FY 2026,” said Premo Black.
As the end of FY 2025 approaches, states have committed $11.7 billion in bridge formula funds or 55 percent of the $21.2 billion available.
“These funds are supporting more than 6,000 bridge projects in the construction and repair pipeline,” said the economist.
ARTBA’s analysis of the 2025 DOT National Bridge Inventory found that 35 percent of all U.S. bridges require major repair work or replacement.
Premo Black said states have received $21.2 billion in the first four years of the
2021 infrastructure law’s new $27.5 billion formula bridge program. She noted that to date, states have committed $11.7 billion or 55 percent of these resources to more than 6,000 bridge projects.
The remaining 45 percent of released bridge funds and the $5.3 billion provided to states in the last year of the bill supports additional improvements.
Thirty-one states have committed at least half of their available bridge formula funds, said Premo Black.
Just eight states and Washington, D.C., have committed less than 33 percent of available funds, as of June 30, 2025.
The DOT’s discretionary Bridge Improvement Program (BIP) provides an additional $12.5 billion for projects that will be awarded through 2026.
Under the 2021 IIJA, states have access to $5.3 billion in formula funds each year after set-asides and takedowns from the $5.5 billion apportionment.
The BIP has awarded $7.8 billion for 87 planning, small and large bridge project grants in more than 40 states.
Premo Black reports that over the past five years, the share of bridges in fair condition has continued to grow. At the same time, the numbers of structures classified as being in “poor” or “good” condition has declined.
“Most bridges are inspected every two
years, meaning repairs under way or in the planning stages can take time to be reflected in the NBI data,” she said.
ARTBA reported that last year, 50 percent of all bridges in the United States were in fair condition.
Bridges in poor condition represent 6.7 percent of the 2025 U.S. bridge inventory — compared with seven percent in 2021.
Based on average cost data submitted by states to DOT, ARTBA estimates it would cost $467 billion to make all identified repairs, said Premo Black.
The classification is based on the latest inspection, which usually occurs once every 24 months for most bridges, according to the ARTBA bridge report.
“Therefore, state and local governments may be in the process of working on some of these structures to make needed repairs,” Premo Black said.
The ARTBA study found that most state rankings stayed the same in 2025, even as improvements have been made.
The states with the most bridges in poor condition, in order, are Iowa, West Virginia, South Dakota, Maine and Puerto Rico.
Beyond those five, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, North Dakota and Michigan rounded out the top 10 list. see USDOT page 30

ARTBA also noted that 13 states have committed 75 percent or more of their funds to bridge repairs and replacements.
The list is led by Alabama, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, West Virginia, Idaho, Indiana, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
In a report to members, ARTBA said that while the 2021 infrastructure law provides investment, one in three bridges still need repair or replacement.
“Congress has the opportunity to build on this recent momentum in the next surface transportation reauthorization bill due Sept. 30, 2026,” said the association.
“America’s bridge infrastructure is entering a defining decade,” said Mary Scott Nabers, president and CEO of Strategic Partnerships Inc. “Transportation agencies are advancing high-value replacement projects that blend safety, mobility, freight reliability and multimodal access.”
Nabers added that many of the structures now slated for reconstruction were built between 1950 to 1980. She said they were never designed to accommodate today’s traffic volumes, vehicle weights or safety standards.
But the bridge sector is seeing a national wave of largescale investments that present significant opportunities.
It’s a great chance, she added, for engineering firms, contractors, materials suppliers and technology providers to take advantage of the construction funding.
“These projects reflect a shift toward resilient design, expanded capacity, pedestrian and bicycle integration and long-term durability,” said Nabers. “With federal BIP dol-
lars flowing, many states are allocating funding matches to support the planning and design phases for future projects.”
In fact, numerous solicitations for significant projects will be released over the next 12 to 24 months, she said. That positions this year and next as “pivotal” years for preconstruction engagement.
Notable projects on Nabers’ list include replacement of the Rainbow Bridge over Idaho’s Payette River.
Valley County officials in Idaho have announced a $54 million project to replace the bridge on State Highway 55.
“The existing bridge is aging, weathered and no longer able to meet Idaho Transportation Department safety standards,” said Nabers.
Safety and operational concerns have persisted for years, she added, including inadequate shoulder and lane widths.
Tight curves and vehicle length and weight restrictions also have plagued drivers traversing the bridge.
Officials were weighing three design options for the replacement: a multi spandrel art deco arch, a steel thru arch, or a spandrel braced steel arch.
Construction is not expected to begin until 2028, but early industry positioning will be important as procurement milestones are established.
In Harrisburg, Pa., city officials announced a $1.3 billion bridge project that will replace the aging I-83 Bridge. This construction will be done in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, said Nabers.
“The objective is to improve long-term mobility, reduce congestion and enhance safety along this heavily traveled corridor.”
The contract is for replacement of the main bridge with
a new structure built to current compliance standards and designed to accommodate future traffic demand.
“Crews will rebuild and improve roadway approaches on both sides of the river to create safer merging areas and smoother traffic movements,” said Nabers.
The Virginia DOT’s long-range improvement program outlines a $47.7 million replacement project for the I-66 bridge in Fauquier County.
The current structure, built in 1980, no longer meets modern safety standards, said Nabers. It also cannot adequately accommodate regional traffic demands along the I66 corridor.
So, the existing bridge will be demolished and replaced with a new structure featuring increased load capacity.
“The initiative is intended to extend the service life of this critical crossing and improve reliability for commuters and freight movement,” said Nabers.
The project is in the design stage, with solicitation documents scheduled for release in late 2026. Completion is currently targeted for summer 2029.
In Kansas, a new four-lane bridge is planned for Leavenworth County. KDOT plans to replace the existing Centennial Bridge over the Missouri River.
At an estimated cost of $157 million, the project will be designed to deliver a multimodal bridge just north of the existing structure nearing the end of its useful life. Constructing a new structure adjacent to the existing span, KDOT can maintain connectivity during construction as it incorporates existing alignments.
“Once the new bridge is operational, the existing structure will be demolished.”
Construction is to begin in early 2027; completion expected for 2029. CEG

The large Schweiss bifold doors arrived at the airport on a flatbed truck. The crew from Groome Industrial was prepared with the right equipment to unload the door panels.

Three bifold doors were ordered from Schweiss, the largest measuring 99 ft., 3 in. wide by 20 ft., 6 in. high. The other two doors were twins, measuring 87 ft. wide by 25 ft., 7 in. tall. All three doors operate with the Schweiss Doors liftstrap system, which uses nylon fabric straps instead of outdated
metal cables.
“We really like the Schweiss Doors strap design,” Esposito said. “We’ve had good experience, functionally and maintenancewise.”
Groome specializes in hangar door retrofit and replacement applications. The goal of this project was to maximize the potential of
the existing structure, allowing end users to focus their attention and budget on what they were after, a quality hangar door.
Due to the size of the doors in this application, Groome Industrial worked with an engineer to make sure the existing hangars could accommodate new hangar doors. Esposito said some extra bracing was need-
ed, but it was minimal considering the Schweiss doors were much more substantial than the doors they replaced. Esposito said delivery of the new Schweiss doors went smoothly. These were the largest doors ever installed by Groome Industrial.

should mean less repairs and disruptions in the future.”
Workers are using a multiphase traffic control approach, including contraflow operations and several split traffic configurations. At the Churchman’s Marsh Bridges (I-719 and I720) engineers called for contraflow configuration. This enabled all five lanes of traffic to remain open by shifting one or two lanes onto the opposite side of the interstate, separated by a barrier.
DelDOT recognized that this complex traffic pattern can cause drivers to become confused. So, planners used important safety measures including advanced warning signage, special pavement markings and barrier protection between traffic and work areas.
So far, workers have performed four traffic shifts at the Churchman’s Marsh section during extended weekend clo-

Although the bridge structures are in good shape, workers are repairing the bridge decks.
sures. The work team has been using hydrodemolition to remove some of the deteriorated concrete. This work naturally reveals some surprises, including “blow outs” or the need for full-depth deck replacements.
“At Bridges I-738, I-739 and on I-95 northbound, we needed to create additional construction workspace,” said Malkin. “We had the lane numbers painted directly on the pavement and set up advanced signage so motorists would be guided about the split between I-95 and I-495.”
In addition, the construction team members were transported into the area using mini-bus shuttles, which limited the number of construction vehicles entering the work zone. This helps prevent motorists from mistakenly following contractor vehicles into work zones.
One victory for the construction team was the proper

placement of the UHPC on a superelevated bridge deck with a 7.5 percent slope along a horizontal curve. Contractor Greggo and Ferrara Construction (New Castle, Del.) performed a test pour, which proved successful. Workers then completed a Phase 1 test pour on the bridge deck.
DelDOT was forced to pause the work when a powerful winter storm hit the Eastern Seaboard, flattening trees across the state. Contractors sprang into action to clear the damage. Traffic was halted across much of the state, including in the Four Bridges project work zone.
Most of the equipment used for the work is standard highway equipment, including excavators, loaders, asphalt pavers, rollers and cranes. Specialized equipment used included UHPC placement and screening equipment and hydrodemolition machines used to preserve the bridges’ steel skeleton while removing deteriorated concrete decks.

Pink-Belt, the 15.2-t Link-Belt 145 X4 excavator that traveled the United States for the past year to support breast cancer awareness, was sold to the highest bidder, Randy Gallegos of Rasmussen Equipment of West Valley City, Utah. Pink-Belt was auctioned at ConExpo 2026 on March 5, raising $220,000 for the cause.
“We’ve hosted the Pink-Belt tour three times now, and our dealership is very excited,” said Gallegos. “What’s more personal to me is that my sister passed away at 48 and my sisterin-law at 45 with cancer. I would really like to continue to contribute, through rental proceeds and our philanthropic efforts, to raising cancer awareness.”
“Through the continued amazing support of our dealers, customers and business partners, we, at LBX, are proud and honored to contribute a little bit to the fight against breast cancer,” said Eric Sauvage, CEO of LBX Co. “We have been supporting the Yes, Mamm program, created by CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation in 2012 in Lexington, Kentucky, as well as the National Breast Cancer Foundation in their shared journey to raise awareness of early detection of breast cancer and increase survival rates in our communities and our nation. We are very thankful to all our participants. Our live auction results represent far more than numbers — they represent more early detection opportunities, treatment access, emotional support and hope for individuals and families navigating breast cancer. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners who have supported us in this journey: ESCO Corp., FastSigns, Grizzly Supplies, JB Harris, Dromone, TAG Manufacturing Inc. and Trimble.
The success of our Pink Belt campaign demonstrates the power of collective commitment to saving lives and improving outcomes.”
LBX announced that 100 percent of the Pink-Belt auction proceeds benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Yes, Mamm! by CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations.

“Reuniting for the LBX tour campaign and the Pink-Belt auction at ConExpo has been incredibly meaningful,” said Emily Millender, senior manager of strategic partnerships of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. “The support shown by the LBX team and their customers highlights the power of a community coming together for an important cause. We look forward to continuing this partnership and the lives that will be impacted through LBX’s support of our lifesaving programs and mission of Helping Women Now.”
The cause received a further $2,000 boost due to Jade Shank, who won the auction for the PinkBelt scale model Prize package.
LBX would like to thank the following companies for their support of Pink-Belt:
• Dromone, for providing a coupler;
• ESCO Corporation, for providing premium buckets;
• FastSigns for supplying high-quality decals;

The new MOBISCREEN MSS 1102 Pro mobile scalper from Kleemann is characterized by its high output, simple operability and ergonomics, according to Kleemann.
Due to its dual power drive, the machine can be operated fully electrically and scores top marks when it comes to zero operating emissions. attendees of ConExpo 2026 were able to get a close look at the plant.
With the MOBISCREEN MSS 1102 Pro, Kleemann extends its portfolio of mobile scalpers above the established MOBISCREEN MSS 802 Evo. Due to its design, its generously dimensioned feed hopper and a screen casing of 120 sq. ft., the plant achieves feed rates of up to 827 tons per hour, according to Kleemann.
High operational flexibility is guaranteed by the infinitely variable adjustment of the speed of all conveyor belts and easy conversion from two to three final grain sizes. The wide setting range of the screen casing angle (12.5 to 17.0 degrees) makes it possible to simultaneously achieve high screening performance and very good product quality, according to Kleemann.

A range of screening media enables efficient use of the plant. Whether these are finger decks for loamy soils or square mesh for classifying decorative stone chips — the screen decks of the MOBISCREEN 1102 Pro can be fitted with screening media to meet the needs of individual applications. The screen decks also can be fitted with a combination of screening media. Overall, the new plant offers a broad spectrum of potential configurations that enable it to deliver impressive performance as a standalone machine or in conjunction with other Kleemann plants.
The plant control system of the MSS 1102 Pro reduces the risk of operating errors and considerably reduces the time required for
training new personnel. In addition, all relevant functions can be operated from a safe distance, thereby ensuring greater occupational safety.
The optional Spective radio remote control also makes operation of the screening plant easier: It can be used to control not only the driving function but also all plant setting functions. Furthermore, it makes convenient speed setting of the hopper discharge conveyor possible as well as the cutting in of further functions such as the water spray system.
Kleemann screening plants can now also be equipped with Spective Connect. This digital application provides operators with all relevant data such as speed, consumption values and fill levels directly on their smartphone. The stockpile monitoring function provides a display of the current status of material stockpiles. When a predefined value is reached, a message appears indicat-

ing that the stockpile should be cleared as soon as possible. This makes the work easier and increases productivity, according to Kleemann.
Regular maintenance work is essential for ensuring a long service life and consistently reliable productivity. In order to carry out this maintenance work as quickly and efficiently as possible, the MOBISCREEN MSS 1102 Pro offers good accessibility to all maintenance-relevant components and lubrication points as well as smart cleaning solutions. The screening media also are easily accessible and quickly exchanged via extra-wide catwalks and a horizontally adjustable screen casing.
Due to the all-electric option of the electro-hydraulic dual power drive system, the MOBISCREEN MSS 1102 Pro can be operated with zero operational emissions, according to Kleemann.
If the engine is run on diesel fuel, a loadcontrolled cooling fan guarantees a reduction of the noise level and fuel consumption. In turn, water spraying on the discharge conveyors significantly reduces dust emissions during plant operation, therefore ensuring better working conditions for plant operators and higher levels of acceptance by local residents, according to Kleemann. For more information, visit wirtgen-group.com.
Accessible fuel filling nozzles on both sides of the plant guarantee a smooth refueling procedure even if one side of the plant is more difficult to access, e.g. due to a ramp or piles of aggregates, according to the company.

Presenting its mobile processing and concrete mixing plants together for the first time at ConExpo-Con/AGG paid off for SBM Mineral Processing.
With decades of expertise in both market segments, the Austrian company made a strong impact in Las Vegas. The busy booth, numerous customer meetings and high-level technical discussions confirmed that SBM’s strategy as a “mobile full-liner” is gaining traction in the North American market and beyond.
“ConExpo-Con/AGG once again fully met our expectations as one of the world’s leading trade shows,” said Erwin Schneller, managing director of SBM Mineral Processing. “While most of our visitors naturally came from the United States and Canada, we also welcomed many professionals from other major markets who travelled to Las Vegas.”

management expressed satisfaction with the trade show. (L-R) are Ernst Stöttinger, sales director of concrete mixing technology; SBM Managing Director Erwin Schneller; Helmut Haider, sales director of mobile processing; and Michael Brookshaw, international sales manager of mobile processing.

SBM reported promising contacts from Central and South America, the Pacific region including Australia and New Zealand and India, one of the fastest-growing markets in Asia.
“We were also pleasantly surprised by the substantial interest from our European markets,” Schneller said. “Quite a few industry professionals from the U.K. and Ireland, Scandinavia and even Turkey used the event for direct exchange.”
In addition to the North American sales managers for processing and concrete, SBM was represented by key executives from sales, technology and management of the company, which has a proud history of over 75 years in mineral processing and concrete technology.
Having been available in North America for just over two years, SBM’s mobile concrete mixing technology EUROMIX has attracted significant attention at the show — featuring the EUROMIX 4000 with a production capacity of 230 cu. yds. per hour. Visitors were particularly interested in the mobile wet-batch mixing technology, which offers crucial advantages over the transit and dry-mix systems still common in North America.
The EUROMIX series delivers controlled concrete quality across a wide range of mix designs, high mobility and fast setup times, and leading production rates in reliable year-

Terex Materials Processing (MP) showcased the scale of its portfolio at ConExpo 2026, with a focus on supporting customers across material processing operations. The exhibit featured 20 machines, including 12 new products introduced since ConExpo 2023.
Spanning the aggregates, environmental, concrete and handling industries, the Terex MP 2026 exhibit brought together 14 brands including Powerscreen, Cedarapids, EvoQuip, Finlay, MAGNA, MDS, Terex Washing Systems, Marco Conveyors, ProStack, CBI, Advance, ProAll, Bid-Well and Franna.
Together, the lineup highlighted how Terex MP combines complementary technologies, applications and expertise, supported by common threads of product development, digital capability and customer support across multiple end markets.
“ConExpo 2026 is a strong reflection of where Terex Materials Processing is today,” said Kieran Hegarty, president of Terex Materials Processing.
“What customers see here is a portfolio operating at scale, proven brands, new technologies and a growing support network, all focused on helping our customers improve productivity, uptime and long-term performance.”
Since ConExpo 2023, Terex MP has continued to expand and strengthen its portfolio, welcoming three new brands that further enhance its capabilities and market reach. MAGNA brings largescale crushing and screening solutions, supported by significant expansion of its United States distribution footprint. Marco Conveyors adds expertise in durable tubular truss conveyor design, and a conveying manufacturing location in the United
States, which strengthens Terex MP’s local presence and responsiveness to North American customers.
Franna has brought the success of Australia’s market-leading pick-and-carry crane concept to the North American market. With more than 50 percent share of the Australian mobile crane market, Franna’s reputation for reliability and productivity is being extended by Terex MP with products tailored specifically for North America requirements.
Digital innovation also took center stage with the launch of INNEX, Terex MP’s next-generation digital brand. Designed to deliver a best-in-class digital experience and tools for distributors and customers, INNEX consolidates and enhances existing tools such as Telematics, Ask Terex, Connected Dealer Inventory and eCommerce, while introducing new AI-driven inno-
vations, according to Terex. The platform is designed to help distributors improve efficiency, profitability and competitiveness, supported by the scale and expertise of Terex.
Also introduced at ConExpo is TRAC, a new intelligent monitoring solution that captures every aspect of a screen’s operation through fully synchronized machine monitoring. Developed by Terex screening engineers with deep understanding of real-world applications, TRAC provides insight into true performance, condition and lifespan, enabling customers to analyze, understand and optimize their screening operations. TRAC is now available across all Terex-branded screening equipment.
Supporting customers beyond the machine, Terex MP highlighted its strategic parts distribution operation in Louisville, created to help North American customers
minimize downtime and keep equipment operating at peak performance.
The 134,000-sq.-ft. facility consolidates parts for Terex MP brands under one roof and is equipped with advanced technologies, extensive inventory and rapid dispatch capabilities to provide dependable delivery, according to Terex.
“Our focus is on adding real value for customers and distributors,” said Hegarty. “That means strengthening our portfolio where there are clear product gaps, investing where the market is asking us to and backing it all up with the right tools and support. TRAC is a good example — it’s something distributors have been asking for, and the response has been extremely positive because it gives them practical insight they can use.”

round operation. As in many other markets, it appeals not only to on-site project contractors but also to ready-mix producers and precast manufacturers seeking the flexibility of high-performance mobile systems, according to SBM.
Another highlight of SBM’s exhibit was the REMAX 600, a 600-ton-perhour mobile impact crusher. With its wide range of applications in hard rock and recycling, high productivity and superior cost efficiency, the REMAX 600 met the specific demands of the North American market, according to SBM.
Particular attention was drawn to SBM’s hybrid electrified drive concept, which distinguishes all twelve of the company’s mobile JAWMAX and REMAX crushers. Especially given the continuously rising cost of fuel in the United States, the hybrid system delivers up to 40 percent lower diesel consumption compared to fully hydraulic or partially electrified machines — setting new standards for efficiency and sustainability, according to SBM. Combined with user-friendly operation, easy maintenance and mobility across the full performance range of 250 to 800 tph, SBM underscores its commitment to practical innovation.
SBM’s sixth appearance at ConExpo-Con/AGG was a testament to the company’s successful expansion in North America. Its long-standing presence, as well as its ongoing development of regional and national distribution partners, builds trust and fosters direct dialogue with users across all industries.
“We’ll continue pursuing this course across both business segments,” Schneller said. “Sustained market success doesn’t come from quick wins, but from convincing products, reliability and genuine customer commitment.”

The lineup also featured screening buckets, built to sort and classify materials quickly and accurately, and padding buckets, ideal for pipeline and backfilling applications by reusing existing material directly on site.
but it delivered just as much impact. The MB Grapple took center stage, drawing crowds through interactive games and in-depth discussions that highlighted its performance and versatility.
“A story was told, MB doesn’t just attend trade shows, we put on a show,” said Bryan Sims, MB America North Carolina branch manager. “Each year, we try to introduce something new
while staying true to our brand and values. Love is not only part of our team and what we do but is also a key ingredient in the details we display in every attachment and interaction.”
While they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, MB Crusher’s presence at ConExpo 2026 is one that deserves to be shared.

Komatsu North America has entered into an agreement to acquire assets of SRC of Lexington Inc., a supplier of remanufactured components and parts for construction and mining equipment based in Lexington, Ky. The deal is scheduled to close by the end of February 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
The acquisition will strengthen Komatsu’s remanufacturing capabilities in North America and expand its ability to support customers as demand for reman solutions continues to grow. With this investment into a dedicated reman facility in the United States, Komatsu will further strengthen its presence in North America, one of the world’s largest construction and mining equipment markets.
Demand for remanufactured components has increased alongside the growth of the installed base of quarry and mining equipment in North America since 2010. During that period, Komatsu’s reman business has expanded significantly, with transaction volume increasing approximately fourfold from FY2010 to FY2024.
“North America is one of Komatsu’s most important markets for both construction and mining equipment,” said Danny Murtagh, vice president, parts and infrastructure, Komatsu North America. “This acquisition allows us to deepen our reman capabilities closer to customers, improve responsiveness and support dealers and end users with highquality, cost-effective solutions throughout the equipment lifecycle.”
“This agreement reflects a shared commitment to remanufacturing excellence, technical expertise and long-term support for customers,” said Tim Stack, president, SRC Holdings Corp. “Just as important, it reflects our responsibility to do what is right for our people. Becoming part of Komatsu allows the Lexington team to build on over three decades of remanufacturing strength, while providing the investment, long-term support and opportunity needed to carry that legacy forward into its next chapter.”
Through its reman operations, Komatsu recovers used components from construction and mining equipment, restores them to like-new condition at dedicated facilities and returns them to the market with the same quality standards as new components. Remanufacturing can help reduce cost and lead time while supporting resource efficiency through reuse.
Komatsu established its global two-pillar reman structure with the launch of a facility in Chile in 2005 to support electric dump trucks manufactured in the United States, followed by a facility in Indonesia in 2007 serving equipment manufactured in Japan. As of 2025, Komatsu’s reman network has grown to 45 locations across 16 countries.

EXPO Richmond 2026 Returns with Expanded Equipment Showcase for Forestry Buyers, Education and Family Appeal –
BEST PLACE TO SEE FORESTRY PROVEN EQUIPMENT!
The East Coast Sawmill, Logging and Pallet Equipment Exposition – widely known as EXPO Richmond – returns April 17 – 18, 2026, at Meadow Event Park, Doswell, Virginia, marking the 40th show of one of the nation’s longest-running forest products equipment expositions.
Hosted by the Virginia Forest Products Association in partnership with the cornerstone event for loggers, sawmill operators, pallet manufacturers, landowners, and forestry professionals since its founding in 1960. The show transitioned to a biennial format in 1974 and continues to serve as a working-industry marketplace where buyers come to evaluate equipment, meet manufacturers, and make informed purchasing decisions.

selected for its reach, stability and tool capacity in a dense, multi-structured environment.
Demolition work places constant stress on machines. Debris intrusion, abrasive materials and repetitive heavy loading accelerate wear on components such as pins, couplers and hydraulic systems. Preventive maintenance and timely service were essential to maintaining productivity as crews moved through the complex.
To support those requirements, Gorick relied on regional dealer infrastructure, including Milton CAT, for parts availability and field service support during the project. Minimizing unplanned downtime was a practical necessity given the number of machines operating concurrently and the sequencing demands of the site.
Demolishing the former IBM complex was more than a technical undertaking. It represented the careful closure of a site that once defined the region’s economic identity. Through detailed planning, disciplined safety controls, coordinated recycling efforts and equipment matched to the task, Gorick Construction executed one of the most significant demolition projects in the area’s recent history. As the final structures came down, the site transitioned from a relic of the past into a cleared foundation for future redevelopment — marking the end of one era and the beginning of another.

Premier pile driving and drilling contractor, American Pile and Foundation LLC, took delivery of a Liebherr LRB 19 piling and drilling rig at ConExpo 2026. As North America’s largest construction tradeshow, this handover signifies the continued trust and support shared between the two companies.
Offering foundation design and construction solutions for more than 10 years, American Pile stands out as a premiere foundation contractor in the Northeast. Their fleet currently includes a Liebherr LB 28, LB 36, LRB 355.1 and an LB 45 which they acquired in late 2025.
In addition, the company is set to take delivery of an additional Liebherr LRB 355.1 in 2026. American Pile’s acquisitions will complement the line of machines and provide further offerings to their customers.
Liebherr piling and drilling rigs cover an extensive range of applica-
tions including piling, vibrating, pressing and drilling. With the appropriate attachment tool, many deep foundation methods can be used with a Liebherr deep foundation machine.
The Liebherr LRB 19 piling and drilling rig is designed for all common deep foundation applications, such as piling and vibrating applications as well as drilling with Kelly equipment, double rotary head, full displacement tool or soil mixing. The name LRB 19 refers to the maximum travel distance of the carriage of 62 ft. (19 m.).
The attachments can be easily changed using the hydraulic quick connection system without the operator having to leave the cab, according to Liebherr. All hydraulic, mechanical and electrical connections are automatically coupled. Improved hose routing also optimizes work process on site, and a 450 kW motor provides the necessary power for all applications.
