In the loop Spring 2026 edition

Page 1

During Fiscal 2025/2026, we delivered a wide range of impactful achievements by working collaboratively across departments and service areas, with a strong emphasis on driving revenue growth. We actively marketed our services both internally and externally and identified new business opportunities, strengthening financial performance while enhancing campus services. Through innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement, we optimized operations and responded proactively to evolving community needs. These accomplishments reflect our shared commitment to excellence and a results-driven approach.

Here are some of the year’s highlights:

• Collaborated as a team to generate new ideas using an impact matrix during bi-annual Business Services Team meetings, supporting service improvements and revenue opportunities.

• Introduced new, more sustainable printing options, including the use of reused coroplast materials.

• In collaboration with IITS, successfully deployed PaperCut software across all self-serve and departmental DPrint devices on campus.

• Completed repairs to the LB parking garage and successfully reopened it in August 2026, restoring a key revenuegenerating asset.

• Designed and installed new and improved wayfinding signage in the LB garage to enhance user experience and utilization.

• Updated locker rental periods to better reflect student needs, increasing flexibility and potential uptake.

• Repaved the Mackay Annex parking lot to maintain infrastructure and support ongoing usage.

• Coordinated two film shoots and the Peddle Heads Camp in partnership with Hospitality and Parking Services at Loyola, contributing to external revenue generation.

• Converted Loyola day-use parking lot P3a from permit-only to 100% day parking, improving turnover and revenue potential.

• In collaboration with CSPS, launched the new “Campus Card,” combining student ID and access card into a single credential.

• Selected a new examination printing vendor to ensure service continuity and support sustained revenue streams

• Advanced business development initiatives, including the creation of a product catalogue and paper sample booklet for the Print Store, strengthening marketing and sales efforts.

I am very proud of our team and your collaboration, creative thinking, and flexibility in achieving these results. You should all be very proud as well. Excellent work everyone!

Departmental training and support

In the spirit of making the PaperCut transition as smooth as possible for users. The DPrint team provided training to administrators, showing off the new features and answering questions.

79 users attended the online training sessions and a survey found:

• 100% rated the training as excellent

• Rated the information received: 4.83 out of 5

• Over 95% reported feeling confident using the system independently

Supporting tools include: an updated IITS service page and a B complete user guide.

We’ll be visiting departments to showcase our print services and products. We’ll bring new sample boxes featuring eye-catching materials, along with a paper sample booklet so users can explore and learn about the types of paper we offer. We also have a new B product catalogue available.

Since February, we’ve introduced monthly promotions: poster sale, discounts on stickers and stationery, yearend reminder. These promotions have increased sales and brought visitors online and in-store store.

New product: Borderless booklets

The Print Store can now print booklets that go all the way to the edge—with no white borders!

• Professional finish: images with full bleed.

• Custom sizes: Any size up to 8” x 10” (folded).

• Eco-Friendly: Printed on-demand using office-standard stocks to reduce waste.

UB media campaign

We’ve teamed up with UB Media to install CeraVe skincare mirror decals in eight bathrooms across campus. The campaign brought in an additional $2,250! “A huge shout-out and thank you to Alex for stepping in and making sure the installation went smoothly while I was away!”

Announcing the Concordia Business Services MVP Award!

The Concordia Business Services MVP Award highlights the incredible work of a colleague who has knocked it out of the park in different ways.

• Above and beyond: Stepped up to lead or crushed a project.

• Boost team spirit: Promoted a positive and engaging team environment.

• Provide exceptional service: Delivered service that truly stands out.

• Drive innovation: Introduced new revenue streams or clever efficiency hacks.

We know our team is full of stars, but it’s time to give a special shout-out to our first MVP.

David went above and beyond leading the PaperCut rollout, turning a complicated, high-pressure project into a smooth success.

As the main connection point between DPrint, IITS, and vendors like Xerox and PaperCut, he made sure every step went off without a hitch. Even with tight deadlines and lots of moving parts, he stayed calm, focused, and solutions-oriented. He brought teams together, managed vendors, ran training sessions, and created clear, easy-to-follow documentation—making the transition simple for everyone.

By scheduling the rollout during off-peak times, he minimized disruption while maximizing impact. We want to recognize David’s initiative, resilience, and outstanding planning, which modernized the campus-wide print environment so efficiently— and that’s why he’s been named the inaugural MVP!
