ment held its 5 annual Speak! Public Speaking Competition - an event where students from grade 6 to grade 11 get the opportunity to showcase their English public speaking skills, which in turn allows them the chance to build confidence on stage. Participants must choose from one of two categories - formal or informal - and then pass auditions, before finding themselves on stage for the final. Aside from the two categories of speeches, the students are also divided into Middle School and High School groups.

The mix of serious talks to funny narrative kept the audience enthralled and interested throughout. All of the participants selected one of two categories, formal or informal, then wrote their own speeches on a topic of their choice. The arduous path to the March 5th Final included two rounds of auditions - first a video audition, then a live audition in front of judges - before we were left with our eleven finalists consisting of seven from middle school, and four from high school.
This year we had six finalists from Middle School, three final- Even though there were the inevitable trophy winners, everyone who ists from High School, and an MC each from Middle and High braved the stage on this day were winners, and hopefully inspired school, all of whom passed their audition with flying colours. others to take the same risk next year!
