Super Brand Mall Internship Shanghai 2025
In the summer between Grade 11 and Grade 12, Concordian students have the chance to gain firsthand experience in the dynamic business environment and engage in language immersion through the Super Brand Mall internship program in Shanghai. Here are some reflections from the students who took part in this opportunity during the summer of 2025.
Student Reflections
My internship at Dragon E Tech in Shanghai was one of the coolest experiences I've had in high school. I worked on creating a point system for Superbrandmall that connects to real store checkout systems through APIs—actual business software that customers would use, not just practice problems from class.
The biggest challenge was dealing with messy, real-world data, which taught me that debugging is basically detective work. But when I finally got something working, it felt amazing.

What really broadened my horizons was discovering how vast the tech field is. Working alongside experienced developers showed me specializations like system integration and API development that I never knew existed. This experience expanded my understanding of what's possible in technology and made me way more excited about computer science as a career path.

The Shanghai internship was an incredible opportunity to explore Chinese universities and learn and different successful companies. Through activities such as selling durian, filming TikTok and participating in lectures taught by head of departments in Super Brand Mall I gain hands on experience and also a lot of knowledge about each departments. It was a fun yet informative internship.

This internship was a valuable learning experience. From durian sales and creating TikTok content to conducting research and giving presentations, I gained a better understanding of mall operations and the broader Chinese economy. Visiting a domestic technology firm gave insights into the growing tech sector, while conversations with department heads and university visits helped me reflect on my future academic plans and goals. Overall, the trip offered meaningful insights into Chinese culture, work ethics, and the ambitious, competitive environment driving innovation, which I believe are the crucial aspects for the future.

This summer, I had the privilege of attending a three week internship in Shanghai with Super Brand Mall. This internship is one that is filled with opportunities and learning experiences, one which I cannot receive elsewhere. This experience broadened my perspective of business structures, especially managing a mall, but it also provided me with life skills that are so crucial later on in life. I am grateful to have been provided this opportunity, and believe that it is a great learning experience if you want to know what college life may look like.
