PYP School Counselors Welcome back to school to all students and all new students! It Our PYP Guidance Counselors are here to support you: is wonderful to see all students in their new grade levels.

As the school nurtures the holistic well-being of all students together with fostering academic excellence, students have been taught, guided, and supported to gain knowledge, understanding, and skills to be emotional intelligent, social intelligent, resilient, and be equipped with the eight school values of Appreciation, Respect, Integrity, Giving, Responsibility, Friendship, Compassion/ Empathy, Golden rule Primary Years Program (PYP) Guidance Counselors provide professional support to the Early Years and Primary Years students to help them develop age-appropriate social and emotional skills and provide assistance during times of transition, heightened stress, critical change, or other situations impeding student progress and success. As part of our support: • We teach bi-monthly Guidance lessons and Thai Value lessons in the classrooms to students from Pre-K to Grade 5. Topics taught include age-appropriate emotional intelligence skills, friendship skills, social competence skills, problem-solving skills, conflict-resolution skills, coping strategies when dealing with anxiety, stress, and other strong feelings, body safety lessons, bullying prevention and response skills, and the concept and importance of all school values. • We conduct individual and/or small group counseling sessions for students in order to handle issues related to social and emotional growth. • We conduct an orientation meeting to the new students and new parents before the beginning of the school year. • We collaborate closely with teachers and parents to ensure the students’ success. • We provide consultation to parents if there are any concerns related to the students’ well-being at home.
