Prom Night

the Masquerade & Midnight Garden

With graduation approaching, prom felt like one of the last

opportunities for the Class of 2026 to step away from the routine of school and spend time together in a different setting. Held at the Waldorf Astoria on April 4th, the Masquerade & Midnight Garden theme set a clear tone for the evening, but what stood out most was how naturally the night unfolded. The evening began on a quieter note, with people taking photos, talking, and settling into the atmosphere. As the night went on, the energy gradually shifted — the dance floor filled up, conversations grew louder, and people became more relaxed. It was one of those rare moments where the usual pressures of school felt temporarily put on hold. A particularly memorable part of the night was the superlatives. While it may have seemed like a small segment, it ended up bringing a lot of attention and reaction from both students and teachers. There was a mix of humor, surprise, and commentary that made it one of the more engaging parts of the evening, with some results sparking ongoing conversations even after the event. Having teachers present also added something meaningful to the experience. Seeing them outside of the classroom — interacting more casually, laughing, and responding to the same moments as students — made the event feel more shared. It blurred the usual boundaries in a way that felt appropriate for this stage of the school year. In the end, prom was less about any single detail and more about the overall experience. It was a chance to pause, spend time with familiar faces, and enjoy a moment of normalcy before everyone begins to move on to what comes next. Prom Committee, Class of 2026
