MYP Student-Led Conference “How have my authentic learning experiences contributed to my academic accomplishments? How have my community engagement experiences nurtured my sense of integrity and compassion? How have I learned to become a more principled and responsible global citizen?”
These big questions inspired by our school’s mission statement More importantly, they help students understand that learning and the IB philosophy are what we asked students to reflect on throughout the year. On April 8th, 2026, MYP students then welcomed their families to our annual Student-led Conferences, an opportunity to pause amidst the busy school year and celebrate the many ways our students learn, grow, and contribute both inside and outside the classroom.
Throughout the MYP, students are encouraged to set goals, seek feedback, pursue their interests, and take action on what they learn. Student-led Conferences are a powerful expression of this student agency — students take the lead in sharing their experiences, achievements, challenges, and future aspirations, demonstrating the confidence and independence that are central to an IB education. An important part of this process is the development of a personal portfolio of learning. As students progress through the year, they gather evidence of their growth across academics, community engagement (service), leadership, creativity, athletics, and other meaningful experiences. By curating and reflecting on these accomplishments and areas for growth in their Learning Diary, students begin to tell the story of who they are as learners and individuals. These skills become increasingly valuable as students move into higher education and eventually prepare applications for universities, scholarships, internships, and other future opportunities.

is not defined by a single grade or assessment, but by the collection of experiences, skills, and achievements developed over time. Student-led Conferences provide an authentic opportunity for students to share their learning journey with an audience that matters most — their families. Whether students are developing leadership skills and compassion through service, demonstrating creativity through the arts, representing the school in athletics, building relationships, overcoming challenges, or contributing to their community, each experience contributes to their development as well-rounded individuals. By engaging in these conversations, parents play a vital role in helping students recognize the value of the diverse opportunities that shape them into holistic, life-long learners. We thank all families who participated in this year's Student-led Conferences and for their continued partnership in supporting our students. Together, we celebrate not only what our learners have achieved, but also who they are becoming as confident, responsible, and compassionate young people prepared to make a difference in the world.
