Message from the School Update
Secondary Principals
Our goal is to provide a supportive, innovative learning environment where students can identify and experience meaningful connections between their study and the real world. Ms. Min Li Higher, Faster, Stronger - Together Watching the Olympic Games in Paris this past summer, I believe, like me, you were inspired again by the incredible achievements and the spirit of self-challenge from the athletes and their teams. At our school, we also strive to nurture our students to reach their fullest potential and achieve excellence in all they do. But how can we ensure excellence and continued growth in the MYP program, specifically, this school year? In addition to the high-quality learning and teaching already thriving in our classrooms, our professional teaching team will continue to emphasize interdisciplinary learning that connects subjects, school sections, and the wider communities within and beyond our campus. Our goal is to provide a supportive, innovative learning environment where students can identify and
experience meaningful connections between their study and the real world. By integrating authentic experiences–whether through academics, service, projects, or activities–we challenge students to tackle real-world issues and needs. This approach equips them with the transformative thinking and adaptability needed to succeed in the ever-changing world. The well-received guest speaker, Dr. Shanton Chang, highlighted the importance of focusing on skills clusters rather than specific professions when planning career paths. In the MYP Programme, Approaches to Learning (ATL) Skills have been strategically weaved into the written, taught, and assessed curriculum to ensure students going through the MYP years can develop both hard and soft skills for future success. After five consecutive years of intensive vertical mapping and implementing ATL skills in subjects and projects, MYP teachers have now set horizontal, grade-level ATL skills. Teachers across all subjects will collaborate to teach these core skills through authentic projects and activities, fostering lifelong learners with transferable, comprehensive skill sets. Over the years, Concordian students have proven to be solid practitioners of our school mission, showcasing excellence, responsibility, and compassion.
