Student Life & Service

9 Independent Community G Engagement Project Exhibition Grade 9 Independent Community Engagement Project is a year-long project where grade 9 students form groups, and then design and carry out community engagement projects based upon their personal interests, and their experiences from previous years, including their Middle School Community Engagement (MSCE) experiences. Throughout the year, these groups are asked to find a community, reach out to them to find their specific needs, and then plan their projects. This process includes conducting research, planning activities, as well as engaging in direct service with their chosen communities. Students are expected to follow all of these steps independently, and this experience also aids in their self-sufficiency that they will require for their Personal Project the following year. This all culminates in an exhibition, where the groups get to showcase their projects to their peers, and this year the Grade 9 Independent Community Engagement Exhibition took place Wednesday, May 20th.
