Please consider this your personal invitation to come sort through our pen of red and black herd sire prospects, available by PRIVATE TREATY beginning March 1, 2026, and continuing until the final bull is sold.
At Wauter Valley Ranch, our program has always been grounded in two priorities: the quality of the mother cow and the profitability of our commercial customers. We remain committed to breeding cattle with maternal strength, longevity, and do-ability as we continue to build our seedstock Angus program.
Our primary focus is the Red Angus breed, a breed we deeply respect for its ability to adapt and thrive in our harsh environment. These cattle are born with the will to live, and the do-ability to convert hard, short-growing forages into pounds. The females possess unmatched mothering ability, along with the structure, docility, and milk production required for success in the rugged country of southern Alberta.
While we know we are still on the journey toward our long-term goals, we are grateful for the fellowship of our commercial customers and industry friends. Your trust and feedback continue to shape our breeding and management decisions and help guide our direction within the Angus breed.
We would love to welcome you through the cow herd or bull pen in Wrentham, Alberta. Please call anytime to discuss the offering or to book a tour—everyone is always welcome at Wauter Valley Ranch.
Sincerely,
Matt & Bailey Criddle

The WVR Cows are dealt no special treatment as they are managed among our 350 commercial cows prior to calving on a quarter section of limited winter grazing on native grass up until our winter-feeding period beginning in December. These Cows are Managed on a maintenance diet built with large amounts of dry, high roughage forages. Our cows are put on test similar to our bulls but in a slightly different format. We provide a LOW-COST INPUTS and hold our cows to a standard of LARGE OUTPUTS as far as their self-maintenance on feed and ability to reproduce pounds and quality of progeny on high roughage diets. This has developed a positive and impactful culling scenario for us as we let the environment, and our low maintenance management decipher which individuals belong in production and which females lose their spot on the roster.
The first steps taken in management on the bull calves start two months after calving. We Provide a 16% digestible forage creep feed to all Calves at 2 months of age (May 1) until being put to summer pasture (June 1) where we provide no supplementation other than summer mineral until the bulls are weaned and placed back on a TMR. The 16% Creep feed Consists of highly digestible fibers Such as Soybean Hulls and by-pass soy with a moderate grain base of ground corn and barley designed for early development of frame Growth, Muscle development but most importantly development of the rumen leading up to the grazing period over the summer. This allows the rumen to quickly adapt to grass when turned out along with immunity and overall health by allowing them to intake their daily mineral and vitamin requirements during the breeding season where the cow herd is generally in an enclosed penning scenario for purposes such as AI, pen breeding and yearly Embryo transfer Scenarios. The bulls are weaned on the ranch where they are introduced to a high protein high forage based TMR to enhance lean muscle development and maximize frame growth. The diet also contains a high-quality 14% pellet from bullseye feeds that includes a full vitamin and chelated mineral package to help boost the bull’s overall health and immunity. The bull’s overall diet is formulated to achieve a 3.0 lb ADG allowing the bulls to show their true potential and ensure longevity is a primary focus on developing the bulls. The bull’s feet do not get trimmed prior to the sale or in any scenario and are examined for fertility by the Taber Vet Clinic
the QUALITY of the MOTHER COW comes first

U2 Lady 368C stands as one of the most powerful Red Angus females ever to walk the land. A true powerhouse, she combined tremendous base width, mass, and natural power with the correct angles and structural integrity that define truly elite cattle. Purchased through the historic U2 dispersal in 2019, Lady 368C quickly proved her worth. Year after year, she went on to produce multiple pen-leading bulls in our sale offering—simply put, she never missed. Her consistency, impact, and ability to rise to the top of every contemporary group set her apart as a truly rare donor female. We unfortunately lost 368C to natural causes two years ago—a female taken far too soon—but her influence will live on through her progeny. This offering represents the final sons of 368C ever assembled, and these six individuals stand as the very best of her legacy. This is how every donor cow should go out—leaving behind a powerful, lasting mark on a program. We are incredibly proud to have owned, worked with, and been shaped by

There is no question that Brooking Emerald 9179 will leave a lasting impact on the Angus breed, renowned for his ability to improve udder quality and foot structure while consistently stamping his progeny with elite Angus phenotype. This 368C son is a prime example of that influence. He offers an unmatched look and presence, combining abundant muscle expression with an ideal and attractive structural design. This flush mate stands on exceptional feet and carries the kind of hair coat commercial cattlemen strive to incorporate into their herds. The growth and performance demonstrated by this sire group is truly remarkable.
He will be available for appraisal at the ranch beginning March 1st.

Lot 2 is the most dominant calf to ever walk the pastures at WVR. This future herd sire sets himself apart with exceptional length of spine and impressive base width, all while maintaining that intriguing, eye-appeal look we all strive for. He stands on a large, impeccable set of feet and legs and is backed by the performance data to project any calf crop toward success, without sacrificing the maternal foundation needed to build a lasting cow herd. This is the type and kind we work to produce year in and year out at WVR. You won’t want to miss this one.

Like his full brothers, 5485 combines elite phenotype with outstanding feed efficiency. This flush mate is as soft-middled and uniquely built as they come. He is another big-footed, sound-made herd sire prospect that will improve udder quality, add hair, and inject vigor and growth into his calf crop. These 3 full brothers are arguably 3 of the best 368C sons to sell to date!

When we flushed 368C to SAV Net Worth 4200, the sole purpose was to build fundamental, problem-free females. We are extremely excited with the level of quality that has surfaced in these three male flush mates. 5425 is one of the stoutest and squarest-made 368C sons we have ever offered. He is ideally haired, big-boned, and exceptional footed, all within a unique and attractive skeletal design. Moderate-framed, extremely soft-made, and easy fleshing, 5425 brings the kind of functionality that works in real-world production. Whether your goal is producing powerful steer calves or elite replacement females, this future herd sire offers tremendous upside for his next owner. He is one we have been excited about since the day he hit the ground.

Lot 5 is a near-exact reflection of Lot 4. This herd sire prospect is massive-hipped and jam-packed with muscle and substance. He stands on an exceptional amount of foot and bone and carries the kind of presence that tells you he has the look to match all the fundamental pieces. There are very few Angus bulls in the industry that offer the level of bone, hip, and foot found in these three powerful full brothers.

We would consider Lot 6 the true ground-pounder of the three flush mates. While he may give up a touch of presence and eye appeal, he more than makes up for it in sheer body mass and performance. For many, this will be the favorite of the three brothers, depending on preference for type and kind. Another powerful 368C son, he stands on excellent feet and is backed by an ideal performance record. This is the kind of bull that will produce softsided, functional females while also siring stout, heavy-weaning steer calves.

We first noticed 129F as a bred heifer grazing summer grass prior to the Bar H Female Sale. Years later, while watching the R PLUS dispersal, we recognized her again—a rare moment that truly felt meant to be. We purchased a ½ interest in this powerhouse female, already accompanied by a Sim/Angus heifer calf that sold for $15,000 in the dispersal. 129F is double bred HF Tibbie 93U, a foundation female whose influence runs deep. Tibbie 93U produced Bar H Mindbender 141D and Bar H Crossfire 63A, shaping elite programs across Saskatchewan. 129F combines ideal Angus structure with added body mass, length, and foot quality—power and phenotype in one package. Last year, six full brothers by U2 Coalition 206C averaged $15,000 in our Spring 2025 private treaty sale, while another, WVR Prophesy 4235, sold for $32,000 at the Angus Collection Sale. This February, we calved three full sisters to Lot 7, proving Tibbie’s ability to consistently produce both sale-topping bulls and herd-building females.

Lot 7 is a full sibling to seven brothers we sold last spring through our private treaty program that averaged $15,000. Among them was WVR Prophesy 4235, who commanded $32,000 in the Angus Collection Sale to Highland Stock Farms. This calf carries all the same proven, repeatable parts and pieces that made his brothers so sought after. He is another moderate birth weight Coalition son, stamped with the same attractive Angus skull, balance, and structural correctness that defines this cow family. Built right from the ground up, he offers the kind of look and functionality that commercial and seedstock producer’s a like demand. If you are searching for a true female maker, Lot 7 checks every box. We currently have three of his full sisters calved out this winter, and all are ideal in type and kind—sound-footed, functional, perfect uttered and loaded with beautiful Angus character. His dam, Bar-H Tibbie 129F, is an irreplaceable donor female at Wauter Valley Ranch and a cornerstone of our program. She is well on her way to writing her name on the wall at WVR and lot 7 is sure to follow the footsteps of his full siblings.

VISION UNANIMOUS 1418 x MIA OF PEAK DOT 316Y
Peak Dot Mia 247C is a true maternal cornerstone female whose influence continues to echo through generations of cattle at Peak Dot Ranch. Following this spring, she will have produced five lead-off sons in the Peak Dot Ranch Spring Production Sale, along with numerous feature lots over the years, including Peak Dot Newfound 83H, Peak Dot Big River 702L, Peak Dot Emerald 811L, and Peak Dot Revival 707N. Moderate in frame, flawless in udder design, and elite in phenotype, 247C exemplifies genuine cow power and structural correctness. The strength of her influence is equally evident in the many daughters retained in replacement pens across the country — productive, functional females that work for commercial cattlemen. Few cows leave a legacy this deep, and 247C is undoubtedly building one that will impact the breed for years to come.

Lot 8 is a full brother to one of the very best yearling bull prospects set to sell in Canada this spring of 2026. His full brothers at Peak Dot Ranch will be among the most highly sought-after bulls in the country, admired for their abundant muscle expression, easy-fleshing ability, and elite presence and poise. Lot 8 mirrors that same proven type and kind. He is good-natured, wide based, and packed with muscle, substance, and performance. As dense and powerfully patterned as you can design, this bull offers the kind of genuine mass and growth that stands out in any pen. His dam, Peak Dot Mia 247C—a Vision Unanimous daughter—has made a tremendous and lasting impact on the Peak Dot Ranch program. Following this spring, she will have produced four lead-off sale bulls in the past seven years at Wood Mountain, SK, while also leaving multiple pen-leading daughters retained in the replacement pen. That level of consistency and influence is an exceptional accomplishment for a female of this quality and kind. This is a bull that demands a look in person—one you won’t want to miss.

Lot 9 is the only red bull in this spring’s offering, but he is certainly no compromise on quality. He stems from a Paramount 79H–sired dam that is ideally uddered and, dark red in colour. This yearling bull prospect is big-framed, massive ribbed, and extremely attractive in his type and kind, combining presence with genuine performance. His sire, WVR Resolution 290J, is a son of our lead donor, Red MEM Holly 29Y, a female who has consistently produced high-quality replacement daughters that continue to strengthen our program. The pedigree behind Lot 9 is stacked with some of the breed’s most influential matrons, including SAV Blackcap May 4136, U2 Anexa 333N, U2 Dynamo 361A, and Red MEM Holly. This one is ready for the HEIFER pen and will have the ability to cover any class of cattle you ask him to.

COLEMAN BRAVO 6313
BAR MM BRAVO 160L
LLB BAILEY FAVORITE 718H
Lot 10 is a mid-March born bull that has continued to impress at every stage of his development. He stands as the ideal heifer bull in the pen on the black side, combining calving ease with genuine quality and look. His dam, WVR Holly 3045, is a daughter of U2 November Rain and an elite descendant of our foundational donor, Red MEM Holly 29Y. She is ideally uddered, moderate framed, and exceptionally deep sided—exactly the kind of functional female suited for short-grass and range-based ranch operations. Lot 10 is as balanced and poised as they come, standing out in the pen for his body mass, correctness, and attractive Angus character, all wrapped into a smooth, calving-ease package. This is the kind that helps you sleep easy at calving time and still leaves you with sale-worthy steer calves or highly desirable replacement females at weaning.

Lot 11 is another Oklahoma son that brings calving ease to the forefront, backed by generations of proven, dependable genetics. His dam is yet another daughter of our foundational donor, Red MEM Holly 29Y, and is sired by the Angus breed legend SAV Net Worth 4200—a combination that consistently delivers maternal strength, longevity, and functionality. She is as ideally uddered as they come, paired with an abundant and attractive phenotype that stamps her progeny with balance and quality. Lot 11 is neat skulled, smooth shouldered, and offers added growth and conversion data, giving you confidence in his ability to sire efficient, marketable calves. This is a bull you can confidently turn out on replacement heifers and expect positive, predictable results at calving and again come weaning.
