POSITIVE THINKING IS A POWRFUL TOOL

Life is full of surprises. When you think about the past, you may feel one of two emotions:grateful or resentment. One of the best methods of living a life by design is to remain grateful for the people and things in life that give us pleasure. To focus on those things in life that you lack is a practice of sheer lunacy. You will never be happy, and you will not share your life with many people.
The better approach to life is to exhibit gratitude for the important, most valuable, assets of life.Family, friends, and faith are a few of the most positive and empowering assets of life Unless your family, friends and faith are lacking in emotional and mental support for you. How can this be? For every relationship we share, there are many gradations of emotional connection that cause us to desire to spend more, or less, time with the other person. For example, there are friends of mine that I could spend months with and never tire of their company However, there are family members of mine that require my full concentration to complete an evening meal.
From a pure sociological perspective, personalities differ among the many people on this planet.You may find yourself disappointed in another person’s outgoing personality to such a degree you interpret it as braggadocio. However, your friend may describe your personality as prudish. Communication is the key to successful relationships. You must show interest in another’s life and dreams that allows them the space to feel free to share them.
Conversations are the opportunity for us to shore up relationships or tear them down. Our words may be misconstrued or precisely understood. Either way may cause the other person to be hurt. I have a habit of smiling a lot. This occurs because I am extremely happy and positive each day due to the gratitude I acknowledge for the people and places I have enjoyed. One day, many years ago, I was conducting some business in a local bank when the teller looked at me and smiled. I responded with a smile and simply asked, “How are you today?” The person began to tell me that she was incredibly happy and honored to serve her customers, particularly ones like me. Now, that last qualifier in her sentence piqued my interest to gain further clarity.“What do you mean ‘customers … like me?’ I asked. She began to tell a story of how she would watch me when I was in the bank talking with other customers or bank personnel. She noted the ever-present smile and body language that suggested to her that I was extremely interested in communicating fully and clearly with the other party.
After I left the bank, I quickly noted in my planner that people are always watching us so our demeanor, body language and words should effuse a positive, grateful manner. In another instance, I was accused of being a “Baptist preacher” because of my grandiose happiness and smiling. Who would have thought it? Life, to me, is so short.It is critical that each day is enjoyed to the highest degree. Fill your life with people and purpose not simply assets and wealth.
True happiness is not bought with wealth but rather developed and maintained with genuine relationships of others who mutually support a friendship.
Another of the reasons for my happiness is that I am honored with a profession in which the very friends in my life are clients. To witness their financial security being attained and being an integral partner with the planning for their future, have been some of the most joyful days on this planet. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, we do not focus solely on your financial wealth. Moreover, we believe the most valuable asset a person can possess is the love of friends and family. To grow our community, filled with citizens who are concerned for the well-being of the most fragile of our people, will help pave the future for generations of community supporters and kindness diplomats that are much needed for our world to find common ground. As the weather continues to improve, I hope to see you walking the sidewalks of our community with a big smile on your face. We are fortunate to live in the United States of America!
