COMMUNITY IMPACT

ALL WOULD BECOME FULLY DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST
LOVE GOD. LOVE OTHERS. OUR GUIDING
WE BELIEVE with God, all things are possible.
WE FOLLOW God’s Word and the Holy Spirit.
WE WORSHIP in Spirit and Truth through creative expression.
WE CONNECT people through care, service, and groups.
WE GROW with intentionality in faith and Biblical knowledge.
WE SERVE the body of Christ joyfully and with integrity.
WE STEWARD God’s resources well and believe in radical generosity. WE EMPOWER all generations to GO into the world and BE the Church.
Becoming more like Christ is my primary objective.
My area of ministry is the workbench God will use to shape me into the image of Christ.
I am to prepare my heart in advance and show up early, modeling Christ so He can do great things in others through me.
We build one another up and give each other grace when someone wobbles or fails.
We arrest rumors, hearsay, and gossip with truth and/or biblical process in love.
What a year 2022 has been! As I look over the past year, one theme is apparent: we are a Christcentered church committed to helping people connect with others, heal, and grow into fully devoted followers of Christ through loving God and loving others.
This theme was demonstrated over and over in 2022 by your generosity of time, talents, and resources. You were willing to sacrifice and have courageous faith to trust God, which allowed Him to achieve much this year.
In this Community Church Impact Report, you'll be able to see some of the significant ways God has been at work in and through Community Church. This report reminds me that each person has a name, every name has a story, and each story matters to God.
Each year, our Directional Leaders share ministry highlights of the past 12 months and the year ahead. They then present to the Elders funding needs for the next year. On page 29, you will find the minimum funding requirements approved by the Elders. A membership vote regarding the ministry funding will be taken on January 8, 2023, by paper and electronic ballot. The 2023 ministry funding goal is $17,900 per week.
In 2023, we intend to be a living, breathing, vivid picture of Jesus' love. It will also be a year of taking steps of faith, knowing God is leading, and trusting Him for the outcome. We live by faith as we trust Him by doing what the Bible says to do, believing God will do what He has promised to do, and never shying away from an opportunity to allow Him to "show off" in our lives.
Lauri and I continue to be so blessed that God has allowed us to be part of the family we call Community since 2000. We love you and look forward to all that 2023 will bring.
In Christ's Name,
Sunday mornings are a place to build your faith, deepen understanding and provide encouragement in your walk with Jesus Christ. In 2022 we had the opportunity for many to gather and worship together, either in person or online.
We are excited for what the Lord is going to do in the year of 2023. Our vision continues to be that everyone would become a fully devoted follower of Christ. We believe there will be opportunities to journey toward the Lord together, as well as point those in our communities to Him through loving God and loving others. One of our goals for the upcoming year is for our body of believers to see how the Lord has equipped us to minister to those in our region.

What an incredible year it’s been! We’ve experienced the comfort, power, peace, and freedom of the presence of the Lord. Though we come from a variety of backgrounds, we gather to worship in unity. God has been faithful to move in ways we’ve never expected. It’s never “just another Sunday” (or Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday!). As a family, we have chosen to fix our attention on the One who created us; the One who deserves our whole hearts. Jesus told us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30). That’s what worship is: loving and adoring Him. God has brought many new people to our worship & audio-visual team. We are blessed to have a group of people whose heart is to worship God and serve their church family with their talents. Those serving on platform and in the audio-visual booth have made it their aim to create an atmosphere where people can praise the Lord undistracted. Worship is an overflow - a response to the love He has demonstrated toward us. He is holy and worthy of our everything.
As we look forward, we must remember that worship is not music. Worship is a posture of the heart. It happens when we direct our attention to the Lord and make Him the center of everything we do. It’s loving Him and giving Him our whole selves. It is choosing to leverage our time, attention, and talents for the glory of God. Whether we're singing a song, changing a diaper, working on a spreadsheet or cooking a meal, we each have the opportunity to go about our days in such a way that brings Him glory. It’s an outpouring of our love for Him. We desire to see people find their song as worshipers in their homes, workplace, and community. Our goal is His glory!

God continued to bring people to be a part of the First Impressions Ministry in 2022, with many joining the Host Team, Grounds Team and Facility Team. The heart of each person who volunteers their time each week continues to be to create an inviting atmosphere so that the truth of God’s Word can be revealed through our words and actions. We are continually grateful for those who give time to help maintain our grounds each week and those who have taken the time to start the first phase of “The Trails” to be enjoyed by us and our community.
We are excited to see what God holds for 2023. As the First Impressions Ministry, our heart is to continue to grow with the Lord to create a place for people to encounter the Lord as soon as they arrive on campus, whether that be for a worship service, an event on campus or to enjoy His beauty by walking “The Trails.”

Congregational Care is the foundation in a body of believers. From hospital visits to support through small groups and one-on-one support, being the hands and feet of Jesus to each other has been critical to the health and life of Community Church. Our specialized Support Groups – Grief Care, Caregivers, and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Groups – have been, and continue to be, lifelines for those walking through challenging situations. And we have ministered to families by providing premarital counseling, one-on-one ministry, hosting weddings, funerals, and bereavement meals. But the constant and most important form of care we provide is our Prayer Ministry. Prayer Partners are available every Sunday morning, and prayer requests can be submitted online at CommunityChurch.tv/PRAYER and through small groups. Over 80 prayer warriors pray over requests that go out every single day.
In 2023 we believe Congregational Care will continue to be the foundation of all the ministries of Community Church. As the new year unfolds, we will continue to pray with you, over you, and for you. Our goal is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, whether in person, through a phone call, in a group, in counseling, or in prayer. We desire to walk with you in this new year through care and prayer as you embrace all that God has in store for you.

When I look back over 2022, I am in awe at how God used this year to grow so many wonderful things, the most valuable being relationships. The relationships with our Kids Ministry volunteers and leadership, the relationships with the kids and their families, and ALL of our relationships with Jesus. We leaned on Him to guide us, lead us, teach us, and with that He trusted us with 200 kids at VBS, 53 at our summer camp, 22 kid baptisms, and innumerable kids who had a new level of understanding in how loved and pursued they are by their Creator. This year we started a brand-new ministry called ‘Wonderfully Made’, which serves young adults and kids who have disabilities. We also opened a cry/nursing mothers’ room that has a live stream of the service. Our heart is that families of ALL types are able to be a part of our church family and enjoy worshiping together. Families are bringing their kids here to grow in the Lord, within their family, and their church community. They are surrounding their kids with people who are desiring for them to be fully devoted followers of Christ.
In 2023, we intend, via biblical curriculum and authentic relationships, to lay foundations of the Gospel in our kids and their family’s lives. We pray their time in our ministry will give them structure to know how to read their Bibles, pray, the true meaning of worship, and their identity in Christ. We hope to outreach to our community, directing them to Jesus through our Vacation Bible School, Fall and Freedom Fest. We are praying that as we are obedient to present the Word we will see many come to Christ and fully commit their daily lives to Him. Our desire is to worship God and bring Him glory through shepherding the tiniest members of His flock. We would love to meet you and your family and help you find where you all are growing more closely to Him.

2022 has been a wonderful year of growth for Community Kids Mother’s Day Out Ministry! We added two new classes and several new teachers, totaling a staff of 17. It has been so sweet to experience the Lord’s continued provision and see the group that He has orchestrated! Through the forward momentum this past year, the mission and Christ-centered teachings at MDO have remained the same We focused on continuing to develop a strong spiritual atmosphere for students, families, and staff. It’s truly a ministry for all involved- we are a family. Throughout this past year, 40 children enrolled in the spring semester, 56 during the summer, and 60 currently for the fall semester. Last fall’s enrollment was 43, so we’re celebrating a 30% increase. We’ve seen several families start attending Community Church, growing in their faith and getting involved because they first became connected through MDO All credit goes to the Lord for everything that has happened this past year through our MDO Ministry!
We’re dreaming with the Lord to keep our growth momentum moving forward to possibly add another infant class in the future, as we see a need for more availability for this age group! We are also currently searching for new curriculum to start fresh in 2023. The sky is the limit, and we are letting God be the pilot Our mission and the reason why our MDO ministry exist is to teach, serve, love, and help point little hearts to Jesus. We will continue to provide quality childcare in a faith-based environment while teaching bible stories, biblical truths, educational foundations, and school-readiness skills It’s truly our joy to be able to serve families through childcare, develop relationships, and make a kingdom impact! It’s a responsibility we take on with honor. We realize that God has called us and given gifts to be able to facilitate this ministry. His word teaches us in 1 Peter 4:10 - “God has given each of you a spiritual gift from His great variety of gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” We will never stop being blown away that He chose us for this mission. We are expectant and looking forward to all that He is going to do this next year in and through the MDOMinistry! CommunityChurch.tv/MDO
We are amazed at how God has grown our students in We experienced many things together in 2022. Summit Camp, serving at Vacation Bible School, worship nights, and weekly small group discussions were highlights for us. We had the opportunity to Crossroads Clinic and a church family member during Spring Break Serve. At our To the Max event, leaders taught students practical learning sessions for prayer, Bible study, financial stewardship, art as worship, and more. Amplify Student Leadership continues to meet for a weekly devotion up for midweek services. Our student crew has 70 students each Wednesday and 40-50 students attend Deeper on Sundays. Students are building friendships with one another, coordinating service projects, leading worship, starting an evangelism group, teaching devotions, and praying together. It is evident that God is moving in their lives in such a way that they can’t help but overflow with His love and desire to see their community come to know Him. We have a team of incredible adult volunteers who lead small groups, teach student classes, orchestrate fundraising efforts, & mentor students each week. Relationships are vital they are how God is transforming each of us.
Jesus said, “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3). Catalyst will be a space for students to belong and to grow in knowing the heart of God. This is eternal life: knowing Him! We will continue to teach Biblical truth without compromise because we want to see students actively engage in following God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. We will challenge students to boldly live out their faith. We will rally around them with support and encouragement as they press into the purposes God has for them. We pray the Lord uses this ministry team to equip a generation of kingdom builders who believe that with God nothing is impossible.

We have always valued the connection part of what a group creates. In 2022, we experienced groups merging and changing as well as new groups launching. Some groups have continued to utilize the virtual component allowing their groups to connect, minister, and reach throughout our region as well as across the nation. It has been exciting to see how relationships have formed and grown through the community of being involved in our groups.
In 2023, our vision is for more groups to form: groups focused on Bible study, similar interests, or simply gathering in a home with neighbors. Our desire is for community to form between those who are like-minded while striving to pursue the Lord! We believe that the Lord wants to use ordinary people to do extraordinary things. We would be ecstatic to talk to you about facilitating a group. If the Lord is prompting you to get involved and/or start a group, we are here for you!
We believe that God has some great things in store for 2023. Life is better together. Find a group today!

We love seeing people come together in Community Groups. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others, and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Community Groups exist to make these life-changing relationships relevant, and to provide opportunities to make meaningful connections. We are better together.

Our men’s ministry is for men who are "in process" of being changed by Jesus and want to pour into the lives of other men within our church and community. Throughout Scripture, men are called to be Priests, Providers, Protectors, and Pursuers, so our desire is to connect sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers in faith and fellowship, and encourage men to be mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy in order to live a life that honors God.

Living real life together is at the heart of the Women’s Ministry. We are real women serving a real God, sharing real life experiences – good and bad – and realizing we are not alone in this world. We live real life together through Bible studies, prayer groups, hiking groups, charcuterie classes, and special women’s events like our annual Bless Your Heart evening for women in November. In 2022 our annual Women’s Retreat maxed out at 80 ladies, so to accommodate our growth, our 2023 Women’s Retreat will be held at the Chickasaw Conference and Retreat Center in southern Oklahoma. We believe generosity should be viewed as an expression of our worship to the Lord. Every year families give their time, talents, and resources to further the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Their obedience to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and His Word brings blessing to their home and to the Church.
When we collectively give what God asks us to give, He not only blesses the giver, He blesses everyone in the Church. We celebrate the faithfulness of God’s people and His provision for His Church! (2 Corinthians 9:7, Luke 6:38)
What does Community believe about giving?
God is our provider. He promises in Matthew 6:33 to provide for our needs. The Bible teaches that everything we have comes from God and belongs to Him. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Therefore, we are mere stewards of what God has given to us. Tithing is giving back to God what is already His.
What is the difference between a tithe and an offering?
The word “tithe” means one tenth. So, when you tithe, you give one tenth or 10% of your earnings. Tithing (10%) is the starting point of giving. Offerings are gifts given above the tithe. God has blessed some people financially who are able to give substantially more than 10%.
What are my giving dollars used for?
Your gifts are used to fund God’s work through the ministry of the church. This includes weekend services, counseling support, weekly discipleship ministries, operations of the church, and more.
Community Church leaders are committed to operating in a biblically-sound and financially responsible manner and, therefore, have chosen to not incur any long-term debt. We have committed to leaving a legacy for future generations that is healthy and debt-free. If you have any questions, please contact one of our elders.
Through the generosity of God’s people, tithes and offerings are given to Community Church. This giving supports the vision and mission of Community Church. (2 Corinthians 9:7-11; Deuteronomy 14:23; Deuteronomy 26) A person’s tithe or primary offering goes into our Ministry Fund. This fund provides funds for all ministries at and through Community. This includes staffing, training, curriculum, crafts, cleaning, outreach, maintenance, utilities, etc. Throughout the year, we have additional giving opportunities over and above the primary offering for causes, events, projects, or campaigns like “Forward with God” or the “Dollar Bill Club.” This category of funds is identified as In-Out.
This area of funding reflects the financial needs for labor, materials and supplies to support the many ministry efforts throughout our church. This includes Sunday services and ministries, Wednesday night campus ministries, online church, funerals, worship, communion, festivals, videos, audio-visual, and special guests. It also includes ministry to kids, students, young adults, couples, nursing homes, homebound individuals, and Community Church’s many groups that meet on and off campus.
Ministry Support Resources include expenses associated with our front office, finance, supporting special events, etc. Expenses include coffee, communion elements, checks, bank fees, copy machine, ink, toner, paper, postage, computers, bulletins, newsletters, office supplies, website, internet, advertising, and all other support resources not directly associated with facility care.
Facility and Grounds Ministries include all the expenses associated with building and property care, labor, utilities, custodial supplies, security, repair and maintenance, driveways, parking areas, etc. Our mortgage was paid in full in 2019, so our property and facilities are without debt.
