WOMEN in

SMALL BUSINESS Why Women in Small Business? Women are one of the fastestgrowing forces in Australia’s small business economy. Government data shows that of the 3.3 million small businesses operating across Australia, more than one-third are owned or led by women and that number is rising. Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows the number of female business owners has increased by 46 per cent over the past two decades, highlighting a powerful and sustained shift in the business landscape. Women in small business are innovators, employers, community builders and economic contributors whose impact reaches far beyond their balance sheets. This is a formidable segment of the economy that deserves recognition, visibility and support. Women in Small Business (WISB) is a dedicated online platform created to champion the female entrepreneurial journey at every stage - from start-ups and side hustles to established enterprises and industry leaders. WISB celebrates the diversity, resilience and creativity of women in business, sharing real stories of success, innovation and the back stories of lived experiences.
