Retiring principal leaves heartfelt leaving swing

A

NEW Liberty Swing for the enjoyment of special education students at Passfield Park School in Minto has been unveiled by retiring principal Wendy Low and Macquarie Fields MP Anoulack Chanthivong. The new swing is an innovative piece of playground equipment at the school that enables local students, including those in wheelchairs, to experience the joy of swinging. Ms Low said she had “always wanted to make a difference” and on announcement of her retirement, the Liberty Swing was the “gift” to her students and their families. After a distinguished career as special education teacher, culminating in a tenure as Passfield Park School principal since 2017, Ms Low retires at the end of this term. “We’ve got to fight all the time to get equity for all students,” she said.
