BLACKTOWN CLD New movement explores future living options

LACKTOWN could emerge as Australia's first Central Living District (CLD) in the not-so-distant future, provided the community is able to convince authorities of its feasibility. A new movement has emerged with the aim of creating a think tank for ideas for the future development of Blacktown and in particular the CBD. Blacktown MP Stephen Bali under whose leadership community members are meeting to express their opinions on redesigning Blacktown as a model place, believes that Central Living Districts as opposed to Central Business Districts is the way forward for Blacktown. On March 31, more than 60 stakeholders, from different walks of life, attended a workshop at the ACU campus in Blacktown to brainstorm ideas for shaping Blacktown’s future. More: page 10.
