t a detention hearing on June 5, Hopkinton resident Steven Dana was released on $7,500 bail and an order of conditions following his arrest two days prior on three charges, including attempted murder, after a physical altercation with a man at Sandy Beach. Framingham District Court judge Michael J. Callahan deemed the commonwealth had not met its burden for proving Dana posed a significant threat to the other individuals involved in the case and the larger community. Dana, 70, was arrested and charged with attempt to murder, strangulation/ suffocation and assault and battery on a disabled person the evening of June 3 after getting into a fight with 21-yearold Matthew Duffy of Milford. A press release from the Hopkinton Police Department stated that investigators determined Dana and Duffy had gotten into a physical altercation over Duffy’s use of Lake Maspenock.
