Marlborough councilor eyes geothermal energy to power city By Evan Walsh Managing Editor MARLBOROUGH – David Doucette, a Marlborough city councilor, recently penned a letter arguing that Marlborough should consider starting a municipal thermal utility. The City Council on July 20 unanimously agreed to place the letter on file, with Doucette asking his
colleagues to co-sign. According to Doucette, Marlborough should “develop more locally sourced renewable energy, such as geothermal and thermal exchange networks.” This way, he says, the city could cut down on its fossil fuel usage – and the controversy surrounding non-renewable energy sources. “[Oil] prices are spiraling out of
