By Evan Walsh Reporter SHREWSBURY – Bradley Quitadamo was 12 years old when his father — Richard Quitadamo — died from Stage 4 sarcoma in 2013. Richard Quitadamo loved biking, and, despite not knowing anyone who had cancer, rode the Pan-Mass Challenge for 17 consecutive years. “Biking was his favorite hobby, and he just wanted to do it,” Quitadamo said. Now, 10 years after his father died, Quitadamo participated in the Pan-Mass Challenge, using the 186-mile ride to honor his father and fundraise for charity. PHOTO/MAUREEN SULLIVAN

By Evan Walsh Reporter SHREWSBURY – As the Beal Commons appeal is well underway, the seven plaintiffs in the case recently amended their complaint. The amended version details their objections to the approval of the Beal Commons project, including allegations of “undue pressure” on

the Planning Board to approve the project. On April 13, the Planning Board voted to approve Beal Commons, the residential-commercial development currently slated for the site of the former Maj. Howard W. Beal School in the center of town. The building would have 53 units and 7,000 square feet of retail space. An appeal was filed after the decision and on
