By Maureen Sullivan Assistant Editor MARLBOROUGH – Green Gold Group recently took over the former Local Roots marijuana dispensary at 910 Boston Post Road East. It has begun to expand its services, and it wishes to be open longer and have new signage. While the City Council’s Urban Affairs Committee had no objections to Green Gold’s first two requests, it had some trepidations about the signage. During its July 31 meeting, the committee discussed whether the new signage could be allowed under current zoning regulations for the district. MARLBOROUGH – It’s a Tuesday afternoon at the Marlborough Community Cupboard in the Walker Building. There were no clients scheduled to visit that day, but it was still very busy. Director Barbara LaGrenade just brought in 50 backpacks filled with school supplies, a donation from the local Renewal by Anderson office. After she stacked the donations at one end of the office, she and Nilsa Roman went to their desks, helping the less fortunate access food, clothing, school supplies and other essentials year-round.
