Glamming for good: Marlborough Mayor Dumais holds Charity Benefit By Mary Wenzel Correspondent MARLBOROUGH – A surprise spring snowfall didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of hundreds of partygoers as they walked the Red Carpet into Marlborough Mayor J. Christian Dumais’ Charity Benefit at the New England Sports Center. “It’s an incredible evening for a great cause,” exclaimed Dumais. The April 12 event benefits the Mayor’s Charity Relief Fund, which has helped local residents by offering aid for unexpected hardships — like utility shut-offs — and sponsoring youth baseball teams. “This is a special night celebrating this incredible community that we live in,” said Marlborough School Committee member Katherine Hennessy. “I’m so blessed to be a part of it.” Traditionally, at the Mayor’s Charity event, an award is given to a member of the community who exemplifies compassion and community spirit. MARLBOROUGH – The Police Department’s K9 program is undergoing a transition. When K9 Officer Ken McKenzie was promoted to lieutenant, he decided to retire his partner, Meiko, and hand over his K9 duties to Officer Kevin Martins and his partner, Enzo. “To do that [his duties as lieutenant] and run the K9 program would [have been] too much,” said McKenzie, who began the K9 program in 2013. Hudson gains new growth revenue from NSTAR project By Sarah Freedman Contributing Writer HUDSON – The town of Hudson received some good news about its estimated new growth revenues for fiscal 2026. The NSTAR gas company recently completed $65 million worth of improvements to its transmission equipment and machinery in town, which has netted

Hudson $1.7 million of new growth revenue. Executive Assistant Tom Gregory said that the $1.7 million was a “significantly higher number” than he originally estimated for new growth. Gregory initially estimated that Hudson had $625,000 in new growth revenue, or additional tax revenue generated by new construction, in January. Growth | 5
