We could build some new homes of lots of different types to suit different needs, replacing some existing homes. These new homes could be designed so that they overlook parks, streets and open spaces, making the area feel safer.
We could successfully refurbish and retrofit other homes to make them durable, adaptable and comfortable, able to deal with a changing climate.
We think we could build more homes so that not only do many existing residents have the opportunity of a new home, but this can be extended to some new residents. This would also help to make community facilities, such as shops more likely to thrive providing better services for everyone.
We could prioritise East- West routes from the countryside in the West to the town centre in the East.
We could also prioritise North-South routes from the leisure park in the north all the way to the retail park in the South.
We can look at how to make improvements to parking and design out ‘rat-runs’ which make people feel unsafe.
We could simplify the grid of routes that get you across the neighbourhood by foot or by bike, between all the of the local destinations that are important to you.
We can also design cycle routes with segregated lanes.
