Commonwealth Projects Coordinator (12 MONTHS APPOINTMENT)
Suitable professionals who can demonstrate enthusiasm, proactivity, excellent communication, organisational and project delivery skills and an interest in international development in the Commonwealth are invited to apply for this exciting post. This is an excellent and unique opportunity to get involved in the delivery of key projects in the lead up to the World Urban Forum to be held in Abu Dhabi in February 2020, the CLGF Conference 2020 and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Rwanda in June 2020. 1. Role summary The Commonwealth Association of Planners, Commonwealth Local Government Forum, Commonwealth Association of Architects and The Prince’s Foundation are working collaboratively in pursuing a number of interconnected initiatives related to sustainable cities and human settlements in the Commonwealth. The outputs from these initiatives will contribute to discussions at the World Urban Forum in February 2020, CHOGM June 2020 and at other events. There will also be a range of follow up and implementation actions arising from the initiatives. The appointed Projects Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the key activities by the sponsor organisations, including day-to-day coordination where necessary, to ensure the overall objectives are achieved within agreed timescales and budgets. The Coordinator will report on a regular basis to a Project Steering Group composed of representatives of the four sponsor organisations. The Coordinator will be expected to work up to 4 days /week (7.5 hours / day) through to October 2020 (excluding holidays), including the potential for periods of international travel within that timeframe. A desk space will be provided at The Prince’s Foundation offices at 19-22 Charlotte Road, EC2A 3SG. Home working may be possible, if appropriate, for part of the week. 2.
