CSG Big Little Olympics:Seniors Set The Tone R
M L
, XII
On Friday, September 20th CSG turned into an Olympic arena. School spirit filled the air as Bigs and Littles faced off in a series of Red and Gold competitions. From water balloon tosses to relay races to mental games, there was truly something for everyone. This joyous day was all due to the hard work of the Senior class, whose efforts set the tone for the year ahead. This concept of hosting a “CSG Olympics” started last spring when the seniors were tasked with planning the first Big/ Little event of the upcoming school year. In the past, senior classes have organized and led pep rallies for the first Big/Little event. The Class of 2025 though a little more outside of the box, changing things up with a friendly competition between Red and Gold teams. In light of the 2024 Games in Paris, seniors felt
the theme of “Olympics” would be perfect for a Red/ Gold competition. The event started with a picnic as Big/Little pairs grabbed lunch outdoors, taking a moment to reconnect and learn about each other's summers. After lunch, it was go time! Big/ Little pairs flooded the gyms with their Red and Gold teams to learn cheers. The Gold team even got a brand new cheer, written by Clara Carney, XII, when she was in middle school. After teams prepped their cheers, it was time for the games to begin! For about an hour Red and Gold teams went head to head in various competitions as they tried to rack up points for their teams. The day ended with a “closing ceremony” where the teams had a cheer-off. To kick start the ceremony, seniors ran through a banner and up the mansion veranda stairs to begin a dance party. This is where the energy was
the most infectious. Upper School President, Sammy Kleinman, XII, reflected on the event, saying, “The senior class energy was at an alltime high, we danced our feet off, [...] it was the best Big Little ever.” Sammy’s passion was shared with many students as positive whispers of the event filled the hallways long after it concluded. Some even went as far as to say it was “the most fun they have had all year.” The Gold Team ended up winning the competitions that day, but that didn’t seem to matter. Everyone was so consumed in a bubble of joy and excitement that the winning or losing did not make or break the day. It was a beautiful display of the spirit of the CSG community and the energy that students want to bring into the new school year. The Class of 2025 truly set the bar high for future Big/ Little events.
Crumbl cookie review with Mrs. Seals L

Do you love Crumbl Cookies? Because so does Mrs. Seals. Crumbl Cookies is a company that sells giant cookies with a weekly rotating cookie schedule, ensuring that you get the option of trying new flavors every week. Recently, I sat down and did a Crumbl review with Mrs. Seals during Crumbl’s birthday week (September 23-28). With the addition of Crumbl Club to Upper School’s club lineup and the growing popularity of Crumbl Cookies throughout Columbus, I wanted to get a perspective on whether these cookies are actually good or just another fad. That led me to do a Crumbl review with our very own Head of School, someone who is not so easily influenced by what is popular but by what is genuinely good! Since it was Crumbl’s
Birthday week we had the opportunity to try a brand new flavor: Crumbl’s Confetti Cake. This was a two layer vanilla cake with sprinkles on top! Mrs. Seals gave it an 8/10, she explained she took off some points because it wasn’t an actual cookie, which I agree with. When going to Crumbl Cookie you’re looking for a cookie, not cake! Next up we tried the birthday Oreo Cookie. Mrs. Seals loves chocolate, so this cookie was high in the rankings for her, but there was a bit too much frosting, making it excessively sweet and resulting in an overall rating of 9/10. Third, we tried the regular milk chocolate chip cookie, which got a 10/10. For a basic cookie, this was just the perfect consistency: it was not too chewy or too crunchy; it was perfect and soft and ended up being Mrs. Seals’ favorite flavor of the week! Next up
was the caramel shortbread Twix, this got a 10/10 from both of us. It tasted just like a Twix bar with the perfect proportions of caramel, chocolate, and Twix chunks on top! Lastly, we tried the original pink sugar cookie, a Crumbl classic as it is one of their more well known cookies! It received an 8.5/10. It is a popular and reliable cookie with what Mrs Seals described as a fruity fresh flavor, but it ended up being her least favorite flavor of the week since it did not have chocolate! All in all, Mrs. Seals rated Crumbl’s birthday week a solid 8/10, and I rate my overall experience of getting to know and sharing a snack with Mrs. Seals a 10/10!
