HOW IT BEGAN...
The world around you was shifting — loudly. There was a lot happening externally, a lot of noise, a lot of conflict, a lot of change. You were aware of it. You didn’t ignore it. But you made a conscious decision not to let the outside world run your inner world. You had to create a universe inside the world. That meant being informed, but not consumed. Present, but not overwhelmed. Once you made that choice — to shut out what didn’t belong to you — you were able to enjoy what did: a milestone year, lived on your own terms. And this was always going to be a milestone year. You entered 2025 knowing you were moving into your fiftieth year. You felt the weight and the wonder of that before the calendar ever turned. So it felt right — no, it felt necessary — that the year would begin in celebration. It started with honoring Christie, your friend since THIS YEAR WORKED ME middle school, as she crossed into fifty.
