Netflix is extremely popular for its wide variety of shows and movies. Amongst these, Korean dramas have been garnering much attention and releases. Here is a shortlist of recent Korean dramas that have just aired, are ongoing, or are anticipating a second season.
NETFLIX Korean Drama Releases Crash Landing on You The popular Korean drama, Crash Landing on You (사랑의 불시착), released its final episode on February 15, 2020. The drama landed on its highest viewership rating yet. According to Nielsen Korea, the final broadcast of “Crash Landing on You” scored an average nationwide rating of 21.683 percent and a peak rating of 24.1 percent, smashing the previous record set by “Goblin” (whose finale achieved a peak rating of 20.5 percent). Not only did it take first place among viewers ages 20 to 49, but it also took first place in its time slots including public broadcast shows. The drama follows a successful, but lonely CEO as she accidentally crashes into North Korea. Her crash landing leads her into the arms of a dashing North Korean soldier. It is a very different look at the North Korea and South Korea dynamic than we usually get to see. The acting is phenomenal as expected of the much-loved actor and actress pair - Song Ye Jin and Hyun Bin. If you are a fan of Hyun Bin or become one through this drama, he is the main lead in Memories of the Alhambra, which is also on Netflix. Itaewon Class
This ongoing Korean drama, Itaewon Class (이태원 클라쓰), is continuing to hit high ratings ever since its release on January 31, 2020. The story follows a generous and considerate ex-convict as he aims to achieve his ambitions with the help of a young, cold genius girl. And, what is a Korean drama without revenge and love? The kind ex-convict has a sorrowful backstory and a hardened resolve for revenge, as well as the attention of two beautiful women. The popular actor, Park Seo Jeon, stars as the lead of this drama filled with emotional scenes. The drama will be 16 episodes long and has reached its 6th episode as of February 16, 2020. Kingdom The highly anticipated season 2 of Kingdom will premiere globally on March 13. The main poster and an accompanying motion key art was also released. All episodes will be available on the date of its premiere, March 13. Kingdom is teeming with action and drama. It follows the zombie infection of Joseon. The popular season 1 ended with the horrifying reveal of zombies that do not sleep after the break of dawn. Get ready to watch the

continuation of the thrilling journey of survival and discovery of the root of the epidemic. Arthdal Chronicles On February 13 KST, Ilgan Sports reported that tvN’s “Arthdal Chronicles” is gearing up production for a new season. According to the report, “Arthdal Chronicles” will begin production on its second season in either September or October at the latest. This popular drama is set in a fantasy world with different tribes and gods. The main character, played by Song Joong-Ki, faces many trials and obstacles to get back to his people and live honestly in a corrupted world. The main female lead is played by Kim Ji Won who worked together with Song Joong-Ki in the popular drama, Descendants of the Sun. CU Regent Candidate: Priscilla Rahn? A very important part of Korean culture is education. On Valentine's day, Colorado Times had the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Priscilla Rahn, a current candidate for CU Regent in CD6. This area covers Henderson, Brighton, Aurora, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, and Littleton. Rahn is from a multi-lingual and multi-cultural household. Her mother immigrated from Korea to America and learned Taekwondo, Jiujitsu, and Hapkido. She is an 8th degree Grand Master who was inducted into the Korean Martial Arts Master's Hall of Fame just last year. Rahn, herself, lived in Daegu, South Korea for two years. She moved often due to her father's obligations to the US army. Her unique background and passion for education have driven her to take more and more roles to promote diversity and equality.

ahn is a Master Teacher, an honorary title held by less than 1% of Colorado's teachers. She was the first teacher in Colorado to become National Board Certified in Early Adolescent/Young Adult Music. With her 26 years in education, Rahn has been a principal, teacher, evaluator, coach, and much more to many of her students. It is encouraging to see her accomplishments in and continued work toward forwarding the quality and equality of education for Colorado's future generations. What is a CU Regent?
The University of Colorado's website states that "The Board of Regents consists of nine members serving staggered six-year terms, one elected from each of Colorado's seven congressional districts and two from the state at large. The board is charged constitutionally with the general supervision of the university and the exclusive control and direction of all funds of and appropriations to the university unless otherwise provided by law." In other words, they are a board of nine members that are elected by Colorado citizens to decide the direction of the University of Colorado's funds and policies. This university includes campuses in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and the Anschutz Medical Campus. They aim to provide: Access, Affordability, & Student Success; Discovery & Impact; Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, & Access; and Fiscal Strength.

Affordability
"The burden of tuition has gradually shifted from the institution to the student," says Rahn. She hopes to ease this burden, so that every student has an equal chance at earning their degree. Rahn offers some recommendations as a highly qualified educator and a mother of a middle school boy preparing to enter high school next year. She highly encourages concurrent enrollment where high school juniors and seniors take college credits. This will shorten the time it takes to receive a degree, not only making it cheaper, but also making sure the student is able to graduate. Rahn shares the "golden time" for earning a degree is 4 to 6 years. She also suggests that, “As parents plan and budget for their child's college costs, it is helpful for them to know that tuition rates are predictable and consistent during their child's time at the university.".
Rahn is also chair of the Denver Public Schools' Asian Education Advisory Council. The council works to improve students' education quality and also awards students with scholarships. The importance of affordability stretches beyond being able to get an education to the quality of education.
Student Success
It is easy to feel pressured or disregard from the idea that all Asian students perform well in school, a concept that Rahn is familiar with. "There is a model minority myth that all Asian students perform well in school." Rahn continued, "I am committed to supporting the immigrant and multi-lingual community." It is important that students feel understood and are given the opportunity to continue their education. Rahn also states that, "Your degree, that sheet of paper, should lead to a job the very next day." She stresses the importance of preparing students for a life that they
can live long beyond their school days. For this reason, one of her passions lies within increasing interest in specialized degrees, including engineering, aerospace, and cyber fields. Rahn firmly believes that the education students work for should be one that leads to a fulfilling job and comfortable life, especially as her own son prepares to go to college. eet Oli London. He is a 30-year-old man who has spent over $150,000 to look like Jimin from the popular K-Pop group, BTS. Over the course of 7 years, he had over 15 cosmetic procedures to look like his idol. Oli described K-Pop stars as “perfect.” He tries to look like Jimin not only through cosmetic procedures, but also through his lifestyle and clothing choices. To add to the whopping $150,000 he spent on procedures, Oli spent thousands and thousands of dollars on outfits that Jimin has worn. Some notable clothes he purchased are a $7,600 coat and a $675 Robert Cavalli shirt worn by Jimin. Back in June of 2019, Oli London actually went to Korea to get more procedures done by a Korean plastic surgeon. Before all of this started, he was a seemingly normal man who had moved to Korea for a short while. During this time, BTS or 방탄소년단 first debuted. From then on, Oli was hooked. He loved the look, the lifestyle, and the aesthetics of K-Pop. In an interview from Barcroft TV, he said, “I know some people don’t understand plastic surgery

In the end, Oli London is an extreme example of a big underlying problem in our society. The desire to be perfect and to emulate our role models, even if it is not as extreme as Oli. He also demonstrates the downfall of being your own harshest critic and feeling uncomfortable in your own skin. This does not rationalize his actions, but shows there is another side to Oli's extravagant story. He is human, just like anybody else. It is crucial that we try to understand Oli instead of blindly hating and shaming him, because, in the end, doesn’t everyone have a bit of someone like Oli London inside of them? by Leah Kim

Home Inspections Dear Real Estate Column Readers,
I
n the state of Colorado, home inspectors are not licensed nor regulated. This surprises many of my buyers; however, according to my recent visit to the State Capitol and meeting with the members of the state legislature, this rule does not seem to be changing any time soon. So, what should you do? If you are already working with a REALTOR, he/ she will probably give us 3 preferred inspectors for you to choose from or have you search for your inspector online. Whether you go with one of the preferred inspectors or from online, I recommend asking a few questions before selecting your inspector. Since there is no licensing requirement in our state, you should ask if your inspector is ASHI (American S ociety of Home Inspectors) certified or has affiliations with the National Society of Home Inspectors. You should also make sure your inspector has plenty of experience.
I know the market is hot and getting a house under contract (pending) is really hard for homes priced under $500,000. It is very tempting to waive your right to inspect to make sure you close a deal on a home. However, this decision can cost you a lot of money down the road. You should think twice about skipping the home inspection and research who your inspector is going to be. I normally recommend my buyer clients to do all three inspections: 1) Homes Inspection, 2) Radon Gas Testing, and 3) Sewer Scope Inspection. The more you know before you buy makes
you better prepared for any future repair work you may have to pay for. This will help you budget and get home warranties to prepare for the future. Always consult with the inspector and your REALTOR in doing inspections. Do not be afraid to independently research your inspector and ask many questions before, during, and after the inspection. Hopefully, your home inspection goes smoothly, and your inspector gives you an expert opinion of the home so that you can make the right decision and move forward and close on your
dream home.

Korean BBQ Chicken (Tong Dak) Let’s Start With The Basics, Just For Everyone!
“ These Korean oven-roasted barbecue chicken wings, known as
tong dak or tongdak, are good for almost any occasion. Korean barbecue tong dak chicken wings have grown substantially in popularity in Korea. These days, you can find them offered practically everywhere in South Korea, and the concept has been exported to the U.S. Tong dak is featured on menus from Baltimore to Chicago and San Francisco. Major South Korean restaurant chains such as Kyochon Chicken and Bonchon have opened locations in the United States, bringing their own versions of Korean barbecue chicken wings across the Pacific.

Korean oven-roasted barbecue chicken wings Total: 4 hrs 30 mins / Prep: 3 hrs 15 mins/ Cook : 75 mins / Yield: 4 servings Ingredients 1-inch piece of fresh ginger (minced), 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 6 tablespoons soy sauce, 3 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons honey, 5 cloves garlic (minced), 1/2 small onion (minced), 1 tablespoon red pepper paste (kochujang), 2 pounds chicken wings and drumettes
These Korean tong dak chicken wings are juicy, spicy, and sweet, and it's impossible to just eat one. When choosing your fresh chicken wings and drumettes at the store, bear in mind that smaller wings (from younger chickens) are likely to be more tender, while larger ones will have more meat and may be juicier. The key to this Korean barbecue chicken wings recipe is cooking the wings twice once while browning them in a pan on the stove, and again while roasting them in the oven. If you want to boost the hot factor for these wings, add some extra kochujang just be careful not to add too much.
STEPS TO MAKE IT
01 Gather the ingredients.
02 Mix all ingredients, except the chicken, together for the sauce.
03 Marinate chicken for at least an hour in the sauce (a few hours is better).
04 Preheat oven to 400 F.
05 In a heated pan on the stove, brown the chicken on all sides, reserving the marinade for later.
06 Transfer chicken wings and drumsticks to a shallow roasting pan, pouring sauce over pieces.
07 Put chicken into the preheated oven and cook for a total of 40 to 50 minutes. Turn once during cooking, covering with more sauce if needed.
