Where were you born? Children’s Hospital Denver, Colorado How long have you lived in the area? I don’t want to live anywhere else. “Tis a privilege to live in Colorado” What do you like most about it? The metro Denver area and the mountains. The different seasons are something to look forward to. My wife and I play golf everywhere and love exploring our beautiful state. How long have you worked in Real Estate? I started with Polly Little Realtors in 1973. Cathy (the manager of the office) gave me a desk and a phone and said, “Good luck”. Had no idea about selling real estate, but my dad was a salesman, so why not. What is your specialty and what does that mean for the people you work with? Residential properties in the east and southeast metropolitan area are my specialty, but I also participate in small commercial transactions. I know the area and am familiar with the neighborhoods and the latest trends.
What is the most challenging part of what you do? Trying to keep up with the changes in the regulations and the different requirements that are put on buyers and sellers to get them to achieve their goals. I have to trust the lender , the title company, the inspector, the appraiser and the underwriter to be able to get the clients to achieve their goals. It’s a team sport. What do you most enjoy doing when you’re not working? Golf, travel, watersports, sailing and boating. I love traveling around Colorado. There’s a lot of great, beautiful places to go. I’m the chairman of the Advisory Council for the Salvation Army in Aurora. It is a very rewarding position knowing that my council is doing great things for the less fortunate in the Aurora area. What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a house? Patience. A lot of patience! Flexibility. Listen to your professional. What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a house? Didn’t have 3 showings in 3 months back then and now, put it on the market at a 15% higher price and had 4 offers in 2 days! Some parts of the market have really changed!
