Parker Town Council members heard nearly three hours of testimony from landowners, community members and attorneys at the April 16 council meeting regarding the annexation application of four parcels of land in the Compark business park area. The annexation request is the latest attempt at stopping Vista South, a recycling and trash-transfer facility, from being built in Douglas County, bordering Parker. Councilmembers unanimously approved the annexation, which will effectively allow the Town of Parker to rezone the area to exclude the Vista South property from being an approved site for the facility. The four property owners surrounding the Vista South land — Abmar Grasslands, Charter Communications, Woodspear Prairie Trail and M and P Enterprises — petitioned the town for annexation, which would involuntarily include the Vista South land.
