Introducing Classics on Stage: New theater group to perform at Douglas County Libraries Front Range Theater Company provides local adults with an opportunity to enjoy acting BY HALEY LENA HLENA@COLORADOCOMMUNITY

Ever since Barb Dignan moved to Highlands Ranch in 1989, she has seen numerous opportunities for youth to express themselves through the performing arts. But she wondered where those opportunities were for adults in the community. “It’s a great community we live in,” said Dignan. “We have lots for little children at the rec centers and such, but we don’t really have much for the students who graduate and tend to stay around this area.” Dignan wanted adults of all ages to have the opportunity to continue to be involved in theater. After several years of discussions and planning, Dignan and the Front Range Theater Company will be bringing their alladult performance group, Classics on Stage, to Douglas County. ‘It was part of me’

Acting and theater has always been a passion for Dignan — one that runs deep in her blood. Her mother, Elizabth Gertrude Neubusch, was born in the 1920s and lived in Bavaria, a state in southwest Germany, as a young woman. “Everyone knew who she was, even as a SEE THEATER, P10

Get to know the Parker Water & Sanitation board of director candidates Mail-in ballot election to take place on May 6 BY HALEY LENA HLENA@COLORADOCOMMUNITY

This spring, two seats are up for grabs for the Parker Water & Sanitation District Board of Directors special election on May 6, and here’s what you need to know. Currently serving just over 21,000 accounts, the Parker Water & Sanitation District, which is a nonprofit public agency, serves areas within the Town of Parker and other surrounding communities. However, not all residents in Parker are served by the Parter Water & Sanitation District as there are five other water districts that provide water services in the area, which can be found at pwsd. org/3391/Service-Area. The district is governed by a five-person elected board of directors, who help man-

age infrastructure and look over fiscal responsibilities. Treasurer Don Langley and Secretary Brook Booth’s terms expire this year, leaving those two seats open. Both Langley and Booth are running for another four-year term. A third candidate, Meghann Silverthorn is also running. The two who voters elect will join the board’s president, Merlin Klotz, Vice President Bill Wasserman and Robert Kennah. I have been on the Parker Water board since 2022, I serve as treasurer and have served as an audit committee member since 2021. My interest has been ongoing and ties to my passion, commit-

ment and experience in all things water. Water and wastewater services are foundational to everything about the SEE CANDIDATES, P14
