Here’s what you can expect from Wheat Ridge’s 55th annual Carnation Festival

Lakewood nonprofit Archway Communities has provided Colorado residents with affordable housing and supportive services since 1974. The company recently opened its first adaptive reuse project, the Mosaic Community, which combines affordable housing with sustainability practices. According to Katie McKenna of Archway’s development team, the company has adapted to a changing society over the last 50 years. Archway Communities has nine properties throughout the Denver area, McKenna said. Five of those properties are in Jefferson County: • 40 West Residences in Lakewood • Flats at Two Creeks in Lakewood • Robinson Place in Lakewood • Sheridan Ridge Townhomes in Arvada

Wheat Ridge’s most anticipated yearly event, the Carnation Festival, is coming to town Aug. 9-11. The 55th year of the festival promises three days of fun, food, music,
a parade, fireworks and more. According to the Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival press release, the festival is one of the longestrunning in Colorado. “The festival’s name is based on the tradition of honoring the postWorld War II period when Wheat
