Next Gallery artists Betsy “Dolla B” Rudolph and Stephanie Kranstover were featured at an exhibition that opened Oct. 28 at the artist-owned and operated gallery in the 40 West Arts District in Lakewood. “It’s kind of a visual joke or riddle. Sort of a still life, if you will, and the title is kind of the punchline,” said Rudolph, describing her project “This is not a pipe.” Named after famous surrealist artist René Magritte’s painting of the same name, Rudolph said she wanted people to have to think about her pieces to get the joke and the idea.
