Denver Police Sgt. Timothy Hyatt, 45, is in custody and facing charges of internet luring of a child. According to a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office press release, Hyatt turned himself in to authorities just after 9 a.m. on Aug. 10. Hyatt was arrested by the JSCO Cheezo Unit/ Special Investigations Unit. According to information released by JSCO, the investigation began in February, when Hyatt began communication with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. The press release alleges Hyatt used multiple social media platforms and a va- Hyatt riety of online identities during the online overtures with the teen. Based on information given, investigators were able to confirm Hyatt’s identity and he now faces one count of internet luring of a child. Hyatt has worked for the Denver Police Department since 2005.
