Lakewood’s Vern and Sue Scott have been to a lot of farmers markets across the Denver area, but the Golden Farmers Market is “the best one around,” they said. The market kicked off earlier this month and runs every Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. until Oct. 5. The market, which is organized by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, will be at its usual spot at 10th and Illinois streets every Saturday except July 27 — the Saturday of Buffalo Bill Days. With the city’s new downtown parking system, Executive Director Nola Krajewski said market visitors’ biggest questions have been about parking. Apart from handicap-accessible spots, Krajewski said market visitors should “plan to park farther out” than they might have in previous years. She recommended Goldenites take shuttles or ride their bikes downtown on Saturdays. SEE MARKET, P2
