For anyone who’s ever traveled along Lookout Mountain Road and felt unsafe, Jefferson County officials are planning to improve the corridor in the coming months. The county is hosting an online public survey regarding design recommendations to improve road safety for all users, according to the county’s website. The survey, which is open to all types of users, will be open through April 7. As of March 18, more than 850 people had filled it out, county staff confirmed. Based on the input the county receives, it’ll move forward with draft designs this spring and have finalized designs by early fall. Public and stakeholder feedback will be key throughout the design process. SEE SAFETY, P6
