Water/Wastewater Superintendent
The Water/Wastewater Superintendent plans, organizes, administers and supervises the Water/ Wastewater Department. This managerial and hands-on position is responsible for Water and Wastewater infrastructure including a Water Treatment Facility and a Wastewater Treatment Facility, with a major improvements and expansion project underway. Responsibilities include water supply, treatment and storage, wastewater collection and treatment, and coordination with the Public Works Department regarding operations and maintenance of distribution and collection mains. The City’s Water Treatment Facility utilizes three state-of-the-art skid-mounted Evoqua Memcor CMF-L low-pressure ultrafiltration membranes to produce high-quality effluent water. The Water Treatment Facility has a firm capacity of 1.53 MGD and a total capacity of 2.28 MGD. The City’s Water Resource Reclamation Facility (WRRF) is nearing completion of significant upgrades to increase capacity to 0.995 MGD and produce an exceptional effluent. Once complete, the WRRF will be operating the second, independent, full-scale NeredaTM aerobic granular sludge (AGS) facility in the United States. The improvements include a new headworks with mechanical bar screen and grit removal, influent equalization and pumping, AGS reactors, tertiary filtration, UV disinfection, aerobic digestion, and screw press dewatering. High School Diploma or GED and three or more years of supervisory experience in a related field. Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or Civil Engineering preferred. Must possess and maintain current Colorado Class B level Water and Wastewater Operator Certification or higher and Colorado Class II or higher Water Distribution and Collections Operator Certification. Ability to obtain Colorado Class A level Water and Wastewater Operator Certification as may be required. This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range is $86,709-$125,393/year plus health, dental, vision, life, deferred compensation, and retirement benefits.
